I see plenty of threads labeled OCC... what does that mean???

I think you misread it, it's actually "DCC" which stands for Daily Chit-Chat.

You'll see loads of those kinds of threads around the forum, the most notable one being in Chit Chat & Polls. There are also variants of the DCC in Pokemon General, Technology & Internet, Trade Corner, Art & Design, Challenges, Roleplay Corner, General Entertainment, Pokemon Anime and The Welcome Lounge (New Users Hangout).

Right, it's just each sections' Daily Chit-Chats.. not every section has one, and not every DCC has the special prefix. All they just are is just a place to take small talk into a topic relevant to the section. However, the big one in CC&P is where you can talk about anything and everything (as long as it fits into PC's rules).

DCC threads are general discussion threads within a certain forum. Pokémon General has one, Technology & Internet has one etc. They are for when you want to just chit-chat on small topics regarding a certain forum, or have a question you don't think would warrant a whole new thread for itself. And Chit-Chat & Polls has one that is about anything and everything, the original DCC, I suppose.

EDIT: it's so fun to be ninja'd
