Was just thinking about this today. What do you think the most quotable movie is?

I'd like to submit Twister. From the "suck zone" to "the wonder of nature baby", there are so many good quotes from it.

Twister is so fucking funny. but my vote goes to The Big Lebowski, for probably the exact opposite reason Twister is.

i'd have thought that the star wars franchise would take this title
    or casablanca
simply because the quotes, particularly the latter, are now so firmly entrenched in pop culture that their existence has birthed more movie lines/zingers/monologues/etc that are notable in their own right simply by imitating and/or namedropping them

i probably quote mommie dearest or alien/aliens the most often though

As Harley said, relatively less quotable movies sometimes become quotable when they have a huge cultural impact. "I have a bad feeling on this", on its own, isn't that deep a statement. It's only because of the cultural context that it's gained significance. This is why it's difficult tell genuinely quotable movies apart from movies that have become quotable due to impact.

Anyways, movies with extended narrations like Fight Club and Shawshank Redemption come to mind.

This is a tough one. There are several good films out there... hm. I'll have to say the Godfather.

"Every time I think I'm out, they pull me back in!"
"Leave the gun, take the cannoli."
"You come to me on the day of my daughter's wedding..."
"I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse."
"I... I have to go to the bathroom."
"This used to be a respectable business."
"He didn't want this for you Michael..."

Not only does the Godfather exist because George Lucas was a bad director (THX flopped), but Scorsese has written one of the best crime epics of all time. I can understand how starwars can claim the title of most quotable, but I mean it's a never ending story these days. And I feel that Al Pacino is one of the best actors of our time.

Goodfellas for me. Don't put too many onions in the sauce.

I came here to reply "star wars" actually, haha. From Yoda impressions to may the force be with you-jokes ans "it's a trap!" there's just so many quotes that so many recognize.

    Means girls!
Its classic and its still popular today because every teenager goes to highschool therefore its easy to relate to.

    " You go Glen coco!"
" If your from Africa, why are you white?"
" Oh my god Karen, you can`t just ask people why they`re white"
    "That`s so fetch"
" On Wednesday we wear pink"
"That`s why her hair is so big, its full of secrets"
" One time she punched me in the face and it was awesome"
" She doesn`t even go here!"

Just only a handful of quotes.
( then theres that sad excuse of a sequel to a classic movie..)

Definitely gonna have to go with Mean Girls on this one. I knew before clicking this thread it'd be in here cause it's just such a damn classic.

Oh, and Napoleon Dynamite. It's got some fantastic lines, too.

    Spoiler:

Now I wanna rewatch this stupid movie gosh, I love it so much.

The Big Lebowski of course, especially from good old John Goodman.
"You're entering a world of pain."
"That rug really tied the room together."
    "Nobody f*cks with the Jesus."
"Donny, you're out of your element."
    "I hate the f*cking Eagles!"

And, though is not a movie, Breaking Bad is also highly quotable.
"I am the one who Knocks!"
    "Jesus Christ Marie! They're minerals!"
"I am not in danger, Skyler. I am the danger!"
    "Look at me, Hector."
    "Yeah, b*tch! Magnets!"
And Hector Salamanca's "Ding Ding Ding"

my friend can quote the entirety of Shrek and Shrek 2. i have seen it. she is a prodigy.

i dont really quote a lot of movies (tv shows rather) but i have seen my share of mean girls references IRL so i'll go with that.
