2nd Gen What is your favourite town/city?

    I saw this kind of thread in the DS forums, but I've only played the gameboy games, so I couldn't really relate to it.

    Each one of the cities in the older games were still unique and had different feelings (and songs) to them. The Metal gen had different types of buildings in different towns sometimes, and the Color gen had different color pallets for every town in Yellow version.

    What was and is your favourite towns? Why? In either Kanto ot Johto, or both.
     
    Ecruteak from GSC. No idea why in honesty, I just really like it. I think it's to do with the fact 4 legendaries are present there in Gold and Silver (At first anyway, until you scare the dogs off) and the Gym leader uses Ghosts. I also like Blackthorn, but more down to the fact it's near Ice Cave and it has strong Dragon-type connections (Dragon and Ice are two of my fave types).

    In RBY my fave location is probably Cinnabar Island. For such a small commune there's plenty to do. You can catch kick ass Pokémon in the Mansion, I thought the quiz idea in the Gym was a great idea, it's near Seafoam Islands (Ice types again), and you can resurrect an ancient Pokémon in the lab! And to top it all off it's built on a volcano! What's not to like?!

    How tempted I was to say "Glitch City". Lawl.
     
    Glitch city, yeah... haha. Gives nightmares though.

    In Color games, Pallet town always makes me feel warm. The song and the colors... nostalgia a long way~ It's so beautiful when you finish elite4 and simply end up in front of your doorstep again. Or when you've journeyed the region and step onto the shore and walk into Pallet again after being in Cinnabar. Ah.

    In Johto, probably Violet City. The song is awesome! I know Olivine has the same song... but in Violet you hear it first :3 And it's the first major town with a gym and all. Almost two gyms, considering the Bellsprout Tower is there too.

    Though Ectruteak yeah, it has a nice look :3 Doesn't look like the other towns' buildings.

    I love that, but my favorite city would probably be viridian, I remember being a kid and wondering about who was in the gym and coming back later to battle Giovanni. good times.
     
    Heh, I had the same thing in mind when I saw this thread's title. Glitch City.

    Disturbing.

    So I guess my favorite was Vermilion City when I was a kid.
    I've always wanted to live by the sea, and the thought of it made me want to live in Vermilion City.

    I also remember two other reasons: I got Squirtle (one of my favorite Pokémon) in Yellow here and this city was where my Pidgey evolved (or at least as far as I can recall).
     
    I'd live in Lavender Town.

    Best town theme too.
     
    I'd like Celadon City as well. It's the largest, apart from Goldenrod, and it's got a grass gym~ And a game corner and a big mall :3

    Oh wait, I think Saffron is the biggest in Kanto, not Celadon. Saffron is just creepy though.
     
    In Kanto, I loved Celadon City, I have no idea why. In Johto, I can't for the life of me remember the name of it, I haven't played the game in so long, It's the town with the Ghost Pokemon Gym Leader, and the people with all the Eeveelutions, there was a tower there too.... this was all in the same town, right?

    In G/S/C my favorite would be Goldenrod. There's a ton to do, and a normal type gym, so my favorite type is represented. An awesome store, the radio tower, and a train to Saffron... Ah, I loves me some Goldenrod City. :3

    In R/B/Y... It's kind of a toss-up between Fuschia (nifty name + Safari Zone) and Saffron. (Clearing out Silph Co. was always a lot of fun to me, and there's a Psychic Gym.)
     
    My favorite town in Kanto is Lavender Town and city would be Celadon City. In Johto, it will be Ecruteak City and the town would be Mahogany Town.
     
    This is a really hard choice. I think...Azalea Town might be my favorite. It's so chill.
     
    Mine would have to be Goldenrod, and Fushia. I always seem to end up at those two points for some odd reason.
