What made you play Pokémon?

Me and my dad were at Six Flags. We were playin' one of those age guessing games, and we lost, and my dad was like " oh well " and I started freaking out cause I wanted the Mew plushie.
The guy gave it to me. xD

Then I found out it was a Pokemon, and we looked for the anime, I watched a few episodes, fell in love with James, and bought the games. 8D ;;

Finally someone played Pokemon because of the Manga!!

I started playing when I was in elementary school. All my friends had Pokemon cards, so I started buying them (even though I had no idea how to play the trading card game xD ) and that led me to getting my gameboy color and Pokemon Red and Blue.

I remember having a comic and that advertised the Pokemon games on the back ages before they came out and thought it looked awesome. Then I got the guide before the game came out and was even more pre-pubescently excited and demanded to have that game. >:X

So I got Blue and a purple Gameboy colour and my brother get Red with a green gameboy colour for Christmas '98, by far the best Christmas ever.

The anime contributed a lot to my playing, too.

I initially got into Pokemon because of the original Anime. I loved it and I wanted Pokemon of my own, hence proceeding to buy the games.
