I started with Chimchar, but had my brother give me the other 2, so I had all 3 really. but I always pick the fire pokemon when I get a new game :) lol
 
i started with turtwig because i started with chickrita in silver.
and i still think turtwig is best, i don't see why people like puplip tbh. if i start with a water pokemon i end up teaching it surf, waterfall. rubbish moves
 
i like the way Turtwig looked the most, so before i even got Diamond i was deadset on starting with Turtwig. and let me say, i know i made the right choice. i got the other two from GTS, but they really didn't work out that great. not like Turtwig. and i love Torterra's strength. Empoleon and Monferno just can't compare. the only downside to my little buddy is its type change when it evolves. but then again, doesn't anyone remember what happens to Venasaur? it becomes Grass/Poison, so that makes it succeptable to Psychic. although Torterra has a x2 weekness to Ice Type Pokémon, what are you doing putting a Grass type again an Ice type anyway? lol :laugh:
 
=), normally when i first get the game i start with grass, when i complete it and i want to start again then i start with fire, it's so much easier completing the game with a fire pokemon. but first time i always start with grass =).
and whats with the two type final evo's, when did a water pokemon fear ground attacks?
grass pokemon getting Ko'ed with ice
and fire dying to physic
tbh, i wish that the final evo's stay one type.
 
hehe i got 2 pokemon diamond games and 1 pokemon pearl and guess wat on each game i got a differant started i thought chimchar looked the coolest but i love my EV trained empoleon its awesome
 
I started with Turtwig because it is the best Pokemon ever
 
i started out with piplup! i always start out with a water type on the first run through. it was a female too, and it was on my first try as well!

It's just water; Empoleon is Water / Steel. :]

Speaking of which, I always thought Blastoise should be Water / Steel due to the giant metal cannons protruding from its shell. o.o
 
I started with Turtwig and I also have a lvl 100 Torterra!
 
The first time around, I chose Piplup but restarted soon after I finished the first gym. Sinnoh has way to many grass Pokemon in the beginning.

The Second time, I chose Chimchar and I'm still on that same file.
