    surprised this hasn't been made yet! but im curious. those of you who keep up with meme culture, what were the best/wost memes to come out of this year?

    it can be from anywhere as long as it's.... appropriate. and the bad ones have to be cringe.
     
    My fave is the video with the gummy bears and Adele's "Someone Like You" because it spawned the version with the cat ruining the vid by walking through the "crowd" but I can't find the video and now i'm upset.

    My least favourite one was "vibe check" because no one can accurately tell me what it means and it makes me feel old.

    Toad singing Chandelier absolutely sent my sides into orbit. Absolutely one of my favorite memes.
     
    Not sure about best, but the worst might be Baby Yoda. It got old extremely quickly and played too safely.
     
    Rise and Shine....it was funny at first but then Kylie decided she had to capitalize off it and sell merch so she could get richer and I just got really tired of it after that.
     
    i hated both baby yoda and the area 51 memes. okay, baby yoda - I don't hate it 100% since I haven't watched the new movie but the frequency of the times where it just shows up in my timeline or newsfeed... my god. ok, i admit its cute tho.

    the area 51 memes were pretty funny at the start before the "agreed" date to go and raid it but when it passed and the area 51 memes just became naruto memes - actually it became an amalgam of memes - then it quickly became unfunny. but in defense, it was pretty funny, it just lived on longer than it should've.

    but THE WORST, hands down, must be the OK BOOMER meme. I'm not even willing to call it a meme. it was a funny comeback to a stupid tweet of someone, say Trump but when its used against grandmothers on Facebook then it becomes cringy. don't even know how this became a popular meme

    For me the best memes are the the ones that go with "Am I a joke to you?" Especially about things I actually understand.

    Agree with the "OK boomer" being the worst. And even more so when used in every single occasion when anybody slightly complains about something.
