What were you raised on?

That would be my grandfather's classical music for me. My favorite was Händel and right now I feel bad for not having listened to him for ages.
I'm not sure whether my parents listened to music at all or not - most likely they did, but it must have had a far, far lesser influence on my than the above.

Classical, Opera, Easy Listening, Smooth Jazz, and Jazz. NO ****ING RAP CRAP WHAT THEY HAVE NOW. They also gave me some Rock n Roll as well, but very seldom.

The only music I can remember my parents listening to while I was growing up was Duran Duran (my mother was such an 80's child, they're still her favorite band today), Madonna and ABBA, with some Bon Jovi, Nirvana and Michael Jackson thrown in from the father. Not that I think I was 'raised' on them, the main music in the household was whatever was being played on the radio anyway. But since I like the artists I said before, I guess I can say I was influenced by my parents into liking them.
I hate to think what I'd raise my kids on, omg. Most likely Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, Lionel Richie and every 80's cult classic known to existence, lol.

My dad primarily listened to country with me when I was little. That's all I really remember with him. XD And he is still like that. Pretty much all he has listened to, since I was little, is country music, classic rock.

My mom, though, listened to a lot of stuff. I distinctly remember Enya, Ace of Base, Duran Duran, and lots of other '70s and '80s music, along with whatever was popular at the time. She always had '70s and '80s CDs, and we listened to them all the time, in the car, and at home. As I grew up, she still listened to them, but also started listening to more modern stuff.

Well my dad didn't listen to any sort of specific genre really, but artists like The Ramones, The Bloodhound Gang, Beastie Boys, Vengaboys and stuff were the big ones whenever we were in his car. Mum on the other hand was very much just like mainstream 90's pop and stuff. The likes of Cher, Shania Twain, Spice Girls, Ricky Martin and others like that. I still love those 90s dance songs a whole heap, mainly just because I was surrounded by them so much on the radio at least, and they are nostalgic and stuff. But I definitely hung onto Bloodhound Gang from my dad most notably!

The only music my dad listened to was classical.

It rubbed me in the opposite direction...I like metal and punk now.

I grew up mostly on Bob Marley, the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and Natalie Merchant randomly lol. I think my parent's taste in music was pretty awesome lol

On my mother's side, I grew up with a lot of pop and rock hits: Ace of Base, Bananarama, Diana Ross, Bon Jovi, Queen, Aerosmith and ABBA. On my father's side, it was Meatloaf, Black Sabbath, Metallica and a little bit of classical mixed in.

For some reason, both encouraged me to listen to Gilbert and Sullivan, as well...

I grew up listening to country music. My mother liked pretty much anything country. Which is funny because she NEVER listens to it anymore.

I only liked some of the country music, like the older stuff. Especially music by Johnny Cash, and Kenny Rogers. It's not something I listen to all the time, but sometimes I listen to it and I'm kinda sentimental about it. But for the most part, now I just listen to classic rock, and occasionally I might listen to 80's love songs.

Growing up, my mom played a lot of country music. The weird part is when it was bedtime, she'd put on classical music for me to sleep to. So I grew up on this weird mix of country and classical.
