"What's for lunch?" "Your MOM!"

I never really come across the phrase, at least not directed at me.
I never understood it — why would someone want to screw my mother (the most common way this is played)? That just makes them laughable for having a thing for older (wo)men; no offence to anyone with such preferences but it's like homosexuality — something your average hip teenager finds undesirable even in our current age of tolerance, so why they often imply they are a sexual deviant seems... odd.
No one at my school uses it in fear that someone they say it to someone who's mother has died. I'd never say something so idiotic.
Oh, necrophillia, even more self-demeaning.

Your mom is harder to pull of than the aristocrats nowadays. That's a shame, because it could actually be funny in some cases, although undoubtedly inferior to "that's what she said".

I use them perfectly because I actually have social skills

Haha, a guy on a pokemon forum with social skills, that's rich.

It's not used to much here, only sometimes. It's usually pretty funny, except the time when my friend said it to one of her friends.
Her friend: whats on your pizza?
Friend: ya mum!
Her friends mum had passed, and she was kind of sensitive to it.

So far, I've only used "your mom." when it was a good answer. It's common though, since a friend of mine has a mother that's just, awful. "Who would do anything like that?" "Your Mom." "Ohyeah."

That saying is so old... I bet even my parents used that phrase when they were my age. I have heard that phrase being used so many times it annoys me, I've used it once.
I just don't get what's so funny about saying 'your mum' to people either. >B|
I remember someone using it on me before.
Me: Hi, do you know what lesson we have next?
Person: Your Mum.
Me: WTF?! *turns away*

Because older women are generally more hot than most teenage girls. I know 99% of this forum would prefer a loli or whatevs to their best friends mum, but not me.

I used to think it was really cool saying "your mom". Of course, I was a really gullible and clueless child to believe almost anything people said that was pretty much "in" and stuff.

Now, no. What if someone's mom died? Yeah, thats a problem. Besides, I think it's pretty lame anyway. .___.

Do you know what else is lame? Your mum...

...

Just joking. xD Yeah, its overused a lot where I live, along with "thats what she said"... Sometimes, it can be really funny and can make me laugh. :) But other times, it just isn't funny... :\ And incredibly unneccesary. :\

I never use it. It's tired and means nothing quite frankly. If I'm going to insult someone, I would insult THEM, and do it using more than with a mere similie or bad joke. Don't get me wrong, some your mum jokes are fantastic, but why direct it to the mum? Just go straight to the dude your insulting, what does the mum have to do with it?

I still use it, but I'm trying to cute back on it. I've run into too many situations where I say it to someone who doesn't have a mom anymore. And that makes me feel bad.

I personally think yo mama is pretty funny.

But looks aren't everyth-*YELLOW IS BRICKED*

My friends and myself do use it in an ironic way. It is funny cos it's only two words and it can be interpreted as an insult. There are also friendly insults "So...how's your Mum"?

I might use it if it fits perfectly or if the timing's perfect (like, if someone's expecting a really serious answer). Otherwise, not really.

My friends and I had perfected the "Your mom" down to an art. Usually, when someone would answer with "your mom", it would begin a really long chain of mother jokes until one of us just couldn't take it anymore and were either laughing too hard or were too grossed out.

I personally use "Why it's your mother Steve! GET THE AXE!!!" instead of just plain old "your mom" now a days.
