Losing a battle in a Battle facility because of hax is pretty much the closest thing I can get.

My Emerald used to go corrupt as well, I was going to write to nintendo but I never got round to it.

I found my Yellow version, got to the Elite 4, saved and turned off the game and when I came back I got a "The saved data has been destroyed!" message.

Corrupted save files. Nothing else would be worse than that. Except killing a random encounter shiny.

The worst thing that happened to me was a corrupted Sapphire file. I had so many old things on there. Stuff from Colosseum, past Ruby playthroughs that were traded over, etc. I legit cried. I turned on the game again though to see if the nightmare was real, and God blessed my soul that day or something because my file was there and perfectly fine. But I still remember this as the worst day in my Pokemon career, even though it resolved itself in the end. I mean...I cried! Come on!

My corrupted Yellow file. Yellow was the first game I had beat (and the only game I beat at that time. I was 5-6, give me a break :p)

Well, probably when I remember having beat Yellow and starting it up again after a few years, and everything being completely different, like someone had been on it. And I had Pokémon that I never had before and it was just all very strange haha.

Only bad thing ever happened to me was when Mewtwo disappeared from my box. It was Soul Silver and after that I restarted it because I wanted it so badly.

I have to agree with you, every time I face a Shelmet, Vanillish, Lampent, Whirlipede, Tirtouga or Dwebble I always seem to be unable to knock them out in one hit.

Some Tirtougas and Dwebbles have Sturdy which is the reason why.

Like many others in this thread, I believe a corrupted file is the worst thing to happen to me with my games. Especially with my R/B/Y games, I had great stuff on those until it got corrupted.

Probably the awful hax you get in the Battle Factories in Platinum and Emerald. I mean, getting into the higher battles just to be haxed to death by awful haxy haxers. >:C

Finally, FINALLY got my Empoleon to lv. 100 on Platinum. Forgot to save since lv. 50. Game froze.

I found a shiny Ditto in LeafGreen in Cerulean Cave. For some cursed reason I don't remember, I switched to Rayquaza. Big mistake. Ditto transformed into Rayquaza, taunting me with its beautiful colors while I weakened it and threw Ultra Ball after Ultra Ball (all to no avail, of course) until it finally killed itself using Struggle.

A close second would be finding a shiny Rattata in the same game and accidentally running away just from being stuck in that habit.
