Let's see...

1) Final Fantasy VII. Some of the best characters in all of RPG history were introduced, plus the story was more engrossing than some novels I've read. It definately changed not only Final Fantasy games, but the genre in general.

2) Final Fantasy X. Second to 7 in terms of story and character quality. Plus, the graphics were unlike anything seen before in RPGs, and it was the first FF with voice-acting - very GOOD voice acting, at that. And it's the only one I've had the patience to finish.

3) Final Fantasy. The original old-school classic still holds a special place in my heart. I still love popping it into my NES (or Origins into my PS1) just to see how far Square has come, and how awesome 8-bit still is.

4) Final Fantasy VIII. I didn't really like this game until my friend Artue convinced me to give it a second chance. The story, while more romantic in nature than other Final Fantasies, is still engrossing, and Quistis is still one of my favorite characters (how did SHE not make it into a Kingdom Hearts?)
 
Final Fantasy IX: Yes, while most thinking nearly nothing about it, I adore the character known as nothing other than.. Kuja. ♥

Anyway, I've sadly only played VII, FFX, X-2. ;_; Out of those three, VII is definitely my favourite. The plot was more fulfilling and though the graphics look so terrible now (I played it for the first time...last year, I think?), it still holds its own as an RPG even now. I also really liked the Materia system. It was far less annoying than the Sphere Grid in X and you could level up materia with one person and switch it to someone else, so you didn't have to build things up all over again like with dresspheres. o_O;

I really want to play some of the older ones along with VIII, but I don't have the money to obtain them right now and I can never find VIII anyway. D:
 
The last time I saw FFVIII for sale (which was around two weeks ago) it was for sale at 79.99 canadian... it's just as much as Kingdom Hearts 2 for who knows what but it's definitely unreasonable reasons. It's probably just easier and cheaper to hunt down the iso and download it to play that way.

If you missed FFVIII, you didn't miss much at all... not one bit. After disc2 it's really boring and pointless, and the only thing that I liked about FFVIII maybe the Triple Triad card game, which is really sad...

FFVI on the other hand, is much more worth playing. Play it if you have the time, Lightning!
 
Final Fantasy X !! No doubt!! Best game ever along with kingdom hearts

Ha ha, same here. (Pulls out his cane) Woooooahh! Curse you whippersnappers and your newfangled "three-dee graphics" and "full motion vidias". Eight bit is the way to go!

I agree totaly, all past 6(all the 3D crap) has no heart...(****, that was a kingdom hearts reference)
 
Well actually, I think there is a lot of heart in some of the 3D games. I just prefer old-school for most genre.
 
mine has to be X i liked the characters the story was good and the sphere grid was a good addition
 
What is the prob here, everyone knows that FFX is the best......
 
Mine is definitely FF7. it has great storyline and characters, simply the BEST!;)
