My highest is my Vaporeon around 1100 or so. I don't really battle in gyms, though, so I don't really mind that it's so low.

Right now I've got a Victreebel with 1704 CP as my top Pokemon. I haven't used any Stardust since I started the game though, as I've been saving it to grow a bunch of my Pokemon at once when I'm closer to completing the Pokedex.

I finally hit the 2000CP mark a few days ago. Strongest is my 2046CP Exeggutor. :D

Times changed. It's now a CP 735 Golduck, which was obtained by evolving. I'm at level 14 btw.

Many of you really need to do some catching up :)
I know gyms where all of the top 8 pokemon are above 2100 CP, with only the bottom two being lower, so to stay in such a gym for a while you need to put in a 2150+ pokemon, and to power it up to be able to add a pokemon you need a really strong attack squad.
Being able to stay in really nice gyms for a long time requires strong pokemon nowadays.

Agreed, I've seen several level 10 gyms recently where the bottom pokemon had CP 2400!
Even more impressive was a level 10 gym with 7 Dragonites! Yeow!

7 Dragonites looks good, but with one strong lapras you can kill several of them really easy. Its worse when different strong pokemon are all mixed up, and some "weaker" Snorlax, Wigglypuff or polywrath are near the bottom. Then you are forced to switch attackers constantly, and you need to have the full assortment of counters, and you need to switch correctly, meaning you know all the weaknesses.
but 2400 is quite insane for the lowest pokemon.
