I dunno if this should go in MVP or not, but since it's already here.... >.>;
I'm 100% Chinese, and if ya wanna break it down, My mom's Taiwanese, so that make me half/half. (Pretty boring heritage if ya ask me. =P) I learned how to speak Mandarin Chinese fluently. I can speak/write/read it! xD I also know English (Duh. =P) I know a bit of Taiwanese, but not much. I also know various bits of Japanese, Spanish, Italian, Vietnamese, Cantonese... (I mean like a few words of each. xD)
And I'm learning French in school. (But I have a very bad grade.... >.>)
Not boring. I'm Chinese, and proud of it. But I was told Westerners look down on Chinese dudes... Is that true....? I'm from Singapore, I speak English, as do my parents, Chinese, mostly speaking with my grandma, and Greek... my parents want me to read the New Testament in Greek... it's more precise... so they say.

As for languages... I speak English since that's my frist language. I can/could also speak Italian. I understand it perfectly but I can't come up with words on my own. I used to take classes and I would sing solos (how I ended up singing solos I'll never know!) to songs like Volare and other stuff. But the singing and dancing cut away from our class time so I didn't get to learn a whole lot. But since my nonna speaks Italian (well a Sicilian dilect of it) I understand it pretty well. I'm also taking Spanish in school. Somehow I managed to get an A- in Spanish 3 level honors when Spanish was erased from my brain last year. I guess growing up hearing Italian all the time helped a lot...
Oh jeez, the Sicilian dialect butchered the beautiful Italian language, lol. My Dad says it's like an entirely different language. He's Calabrese and he teases my Mom about how Sicilians technically aren't from Italy since they're a separate island...>_< He's thought of so many excuses to annoy her Sicilian culture...heh.

Both my parents are Canadian, but my dad's parents are Italian and my mom's parents are Maltese (SP?). I'm kinda neither and consider myself just Canadian. The only part of any of these cultures that I enforce is Italian food. Italian double-kissing is confusing. I headbutted my aunt once doing that. LOL. I can't speak either language, or any other language except for English.
The Italian "double-kissing" is the European way of kissing, as Dizzy said. Although, the double kiss can also be considered the Sicilian Kiss of Death, lol. ^_^; It's creepy. I don't think you'd come into contact with that unless you were involved in the Mafia, but we won't get into that!

I know, but I think if we're born in America, then we should be called American, unless we came from another country. Hey, whya ren't canadians and mexicans American, too?
We technically are called Americans...that's what we're referred as. People just recognize the word "nationality" as a way of expressing their ethnic background. Canadians aren't American because they are under the control of the British and the French, I believe, and they have their own different government. Mexicans are practically all of Central America so I'm guessing that's just why they're classified as Mexican unless they're something otherwise. Some people use the term South American if they're from that section, but I've heard people say they're Brazilian or whatnot, and specify where they come from.
