Currently playing Leaf Green on my phone, I just beat Team Rocket at Celadon Cit and my team is as follows:

    Weepinbell Lvl 24
    Dugtrio Lvl 27
    Primeape Lvl 30
    Pikachu Lvl 23
    Wartortle Lvl 25
    Fearow Lvl 30

I'm not sure if I should get a fire type and get a Dratini? Any thoughts?

My team in Leaf Green is Persian (lvl. 79), Raichu (lvl. 63), Charizard (lvl. 62), Crobat (lvl. 61), Dragonite (lvl. 62) and Rhydon (lvl. 63).
I plan on changing it a bit and carrying a Venomoth, Swampert, Machamp and Ninetales with me since I never use those Pokémon and I really wanna try something new. I'm currently training them so my team will suffer some pretty drastic changes soon.

I'm not sure if I should get a fire type and get a Dratini? Any thoughts?

If you have the patience to train a Dratini, then by all means, go ahead and do it! Personally I'd suggest you get a Growlithe/Arcanine if you really want a Fire-type that also has a few Dark-type moves and can help you deal with those pesky Psychic-types (since both Weepinbell and Primeape are weak to Psychic). You can trade it from Fire Red.

I just started a run on vanilla Emerald after playing it randomized for a few months. My current team:

    Hardhat/Aron lvl 18
    KFC/Combusken lvl 23
    Specialist/Kirlia lvl 21
Zigg/Zigzagoon lvl 7-wanting to train him up sooner or later, as I find this line to be the only good rodent line in gens 1-3
    ZA/Zigzagoon lvl 4
    Goon/Zigzagoon lvl 4-HM slave
Blue/Taillow lvl 14-Currently residing in PC.

I'm playing it with Gen 3 pokemon only. I intend to get a Spheal and a Trapinch in due time, then run again with Treecko and again with Mudkip, all different teams. You know, those self-imposed just for fun challenges.

Emerald "Secondary" Team: ludicolo, sandslash, raichu, flygon

    Hello,

My team as follows. I don't like to use legendary pokemon because you cannot compete in competition with them.

    Tryanitar - Ground/Dark
    Blaziken - Fire/Fighting
Vaporeon - Water (Or Lanturn since he is immune to water and electric)
    Skarmory - Steel/Flying
    Gardevoir - Psychic
Nidoking - Poison/Ground (maybe Metagross or Aggron)

What do you think? Strong team, how could I make it stronger? My highest speed is 80 (blaziken & gardevoir) , which is not very high, but all other stats are awesome. I am also not too happy about Nidoking because he doesn't contribute much to the team stats wise.

    Peace!

  • My last team that I used to beat the Elite Four on FireRed was Kadabra (couldn't evolve him because emulator), Venusaur, Magneton, Poliwrath, Kabutops and Dragonite. I think I'm only going to keep the first two next time.

I've just started another game of Leaf Green and I've been OCD-planning my team for a couple of days. What do you guys think of this lineup (I don't have moves or EVs yet, just an idea of the team composition):

    Venusaur
    Tentacruel
    Jolteon
    Jynx
    Ninetales
    Fearow

I almost always run with a cookie cutter Charizard/Lapras/Kadabra/Raichu/Dugtrio/Dragonite so I wanted to run with something more challenging and varied.
