I started actually paying attention to music around the age of twelve, when my mom played me a catchy NSYNC track. However, I wouldn't say music became a part of my life the b, I just began listening to the radio and top 40 hits, never accumulating a taste. That began later on, around the end of middle school, when I discovered Neon Trees. Even though I discovered them through mainstream radio, after replaying Animal a billion times, I branched out of one song and began to love them as an artist. Today, they're still a group I listen to every know and then.
This school year, music has evolved into a more significant aspect of my life. I use it as motivation, as meditation, as elation, and many other things. I can't enjoy a party unless there's good music playing, I've found. For this reason, I've had ambitions to host a party of my own just to make a playlist, haha. I'm probably the only one in my family that truly appreciates the art and power of music, so I'm generally scolded when I put my headphones on in the car or while doing family activities.
Can't say I have a defined taste, either. I'll listen to any music, except country. Chances are I'll like it!
