When worlds collide!

OOC: actually, it's more than possible. especially if dragons are related to dinosaurs, of which some species gave live birth and others laid eggs. the embryo could have already developed inside thier eggs before birth. at which point it would entierly be up to the hatchling of when to come out.

IC: I came into the room, totally silent. I noticed that only one of the eggs was actually moving, it was just causign the others to shift.

Using one claw, I shifted the one egg apart from the others gently, and leaned back slightly, so that I could keep an eye on it, as well as be able to notice if any others started moving.

It didn't take long for the hatchlign to break free, even though it got stuck halfway out. when it did, I made no move to help it, though quietly whispered encouragement until it was totally free. it laid just outside it's shell, exausted. I noticed it seemed to be covered with a fuzzy down, protofeathers to be specific. all in all, it looked very cute. I couldn't tell what color it was, as it was soaked so that the coloration couldn't be seen.

I looked at the hatchling in awe, amazed by the beauty of the little thing. It didn't bother me that the others hadn't hatched yet, they could take a while. My entire world had been reduced to a size slightly smaller than the egg it had come from.

The hatching looked around wiht a squeak, and with an almost funny determination, forced itself to it's feet, and stumbled over to the nearest heat sourse, which was Nido. it managed to get next ot his foot, before falling, but that was fine. it's protofeathers could dry without makign the hatchling cold. I sat back, and said "well, seems that he knows who his dad is already"

OOC: pogi, I'm sick and tired of these arguments between us, jsut because somethign hasn't been heard of doesn't mena it isn't possible.

ooc: I'm being logical about things, and logic can determine ahead of time whether or not such a thing can exist, whether it's been seen or not. Logic tells us the reason why they have eggs is so that the hatchling will have time to properly develop. It is safe to assume that since the reptiles are the fastest in regenerating lost body tissue, they are also the fastest at bodily development. However, the process of regeneration still takes a considerable amount of time, so therefore so does the incubation process.

Logic dictates life. I"m jut telling it like it is.

OOC: but reptiles as we know them are cold blooded. dragons are warm-blooded.

IC: I laid down, tendign to the other eggs, my appitite for them long gone. i checked back to the hatchling, and noticed that it seemed to be a gold color, with silvery white tiger stripes.

I silently nussled Nido, as to not disturb the hatchling. which seemed to be a failed attempt, as withen moemnts I felt claws on my front leg, as the hatchlign clambered up my leg, and onto my back, before plopping down.

ooc:They are warm blooded only because their blood stream recieves heat form their fire lung. In terms of classification dragons are reptiles, as they ahve no hair nor fur, they have scales, they lay eggs, need I go on?

OOC: In my books, dragons vary from reptiles to birds, giving live birth as well as eggs, varring from serpent shape to almost horses. They are magical creatures, and in several books, the dragonets choose their own time to hatch. This is magic, not logic.

IC: I looked as the dragonet crawled onto Eclipse's back, and noticed something strange. Was it my eyes, or was the silvery-white its more dominant color now?

ooc:Then your books differ form mine. My books say dragons are nothing more than larged, winged reptiles that can speak every language and breath fire. Other than that, there is nothing so unique about them.

and dragons are classified as reptiles. If they are birds, then they are not dragons but griffins. serpent shape dragons are still reptiles regardless of their shape. There is not true magic involved with them other than natural powers that vary from dragon to dragon. I ahve read plenty of fantasy and fantasy based research books and not one of them say there is anythign special about the hatching process of a dragon.

Logic always applied, even in magic. if you want to paralyze someon, you obviously woudn't want to cast in invigoration spell. :\

I could feel the little dragon tryign to climb up my neck, and I lowered my neck to give it an easier time. about halfway up my neck, it apparently got scared for a moment and dug it's claws into my neck, causing me to wince slightly.

It couldn't be my imagination. The silver was the more dominant color now, it only had thin stripes of gold on it. I was wondering whether I should tell Eclipse about this, or if it would only serve to annoy her at the moment.

"you know what?" I started, not beign able to see the hatchling now, "since we're both morphers, wouldn't it be reasonable for the children to have minor morphing powers?"

"That would explain something." I said, managing to loose the dragonet form Eclipse's neck, and held him in front of her, the dominant silver color starting to fade into gold again to match my claws.

"chameleon powers. You know, if anybody knew that we're here, we'd have to spend a lot more time guardign the nest" I mused quietly.

I didn't realise how right I was. at that moment, a human had gotten into the mountain somehow. he was clad in black, and he watched the entrance to the room in total silence..
