if it was only old-new, but the main point still stays yin-yang which legendaries represents :D
Ok now i have searched this isshu stuff out a little bit and here are some things that I found:
- a pic with some neat things, though crapily made, but some good points

(i posted a link, cause its too big, and idk how to put it n the spoilers)
now beside legendaries pointing to china, there is hidauruma.
- As for Aloe being a black woman, almost every pokemon gen had a gym trainer that are foreigns: Lt.Surge, Juan, Crasher Wake, and Fantina.
- Victini isn't 'American themed'. It's based on a combination of the Greek Winged-Goddess of Victory 'Nike', and Usagi-ringo, a decorative way to cut apples.
- There are several things that the NYC crowd shun that are in favor of Shanghai, like Suzhou being exactly where it should be on the Isshu map (built on water + ferris wheel), the Sutong Bridge, the fact that the Shanghai region is the same size as every other Pokemon region and NYC is literally 1/6th the size of Kanto. People see a modern Metropolis and assume it's western, when Shanghai City is literally the exact same size as NYC and is in many ways more modern looking. The NYC crowd ignores the mountain ranges, the GIGANTIC LAKE, set of islands off the coast of Isshu (since Isshu has a coast...)
- Here is a picture of isshu, and its shanghai counterparts.
- Shanghai area also has windmills in its rural areas, whilst NYC doesn't, as far as I know.
- Zoroark, a fox pokemon is most likely based on a huli jing, a chinese spirit fox, which can change its appearance.
So another pokemon that point to china, besides legendary dragons and hidauruma and his pre-evo
- Possibility that Iris is Chinese.
I hope saying that isn't too controversial, but honestly now...her character design is a very common stereotype used in a large variety of anime for Chinese girl martial artists. There's really no arguing this point. To make it clearer for those who haven't watched a lot of other anime, there's several tell-tale characteristics which makes this so damn obvious it isn't funny.
a) Twin tails / Pom Poms (Occasionally hair up in a single bun, but with two small tails down the side)
b) "Wild" energetic personalities
c) Clothing with very wide open sleeves (most common with the younger girls up to around middle school) OR clothing with no sleeves whatsoever (usually more common with high school and up characters)
- If mamanbou turns out to be a luvdisc evo, that would hint towards shangahi more, because shanghai is closer to hoenn. But i guess we will just have to w8.
I also remember some1 saying on this forum that 2ch stated that isshu is NYC, whoever said this has lied, 2ch researched this and came to conclusion that isshu is shanghai, ill try to find more info and post it later, since all the links I found are on japanese, i hope i find it :S
