APPLICATION
* Name: July 'Lil Miss Giggles' Kaim
* Gender: Female
* Age: 15
* Personality:
July didn't earn her nickname 'Lil Miss Giggles' for nothing. She is a very bubbly, fun, enthusiastic girl with a great sense of humor. Almost everything and anything can make her laugh hysterically, just because. July is a very happy-go-lucky girl, who is almost always positive in every situation. She loves life, period, and won't let it be wasted with negativity and bad emotions, unless completely necessary. But even in dire emergency, she is always looking for the positive points in the situation.
July may be very positive, but she isn't naive, as her personality might suggest. She knows and understands that the world isn't completely safe and wonderful, and she embraces it. If she just ignores it, and denies the problems the world has, she would be lying to herself. And that's bad.
July likes outdoor activities, running around, playing with Pokemon, sports, etc. She loves being active, and that helps her keep her very happy attitude. If she's cooped up inside too long, she tends to get a tad moody, although it's never worse than a very slight snap when she's frustrated, as she isn't ever negative. July is very outgoing and a tad loud-mouthed. She always says what she's thinking, because she believes that holding words back leads to unhealthy friendships and bad feelings. She hates secrets, and she doesn't like to lie, or tell half-truths. She's very fun, always having a new game to play, or a prank to pull. That's another thing, July is a very well-seasoned pranksters. She likes to make people and Pokemon happy, and make them laugh. So she does dumb, funny, and just plain stupid things to make others feel good. July is a very sweet, kind, and all around happy person.
July doesn't like lazy people, gossipy girls, people that think they're the centre of the universe and 'all that', and people who think negatively. She can't stand those who expect others to do their work for them, stuck up girls, and those girls and guy everyone knows who are completely self-centered. July does tell them what she thinks of them, without any hesitation. It's better just to tell them than let them think they're so freaking loved and thought to be awesome. She believes they need to be taken down a knotch. Although, July isn't exactly 'humble' herself.
The only thing that can make July angry is Pokemon abuse. If she sees a Trainer battling, and his or her Pokemon is really hurt, but they won't let them stop, she steps in. She doesn't care if 'it's their Pokemon, they can treat it how they like'. She doesn't give flying leap about the Trainer's feelings, if the Pokemon is badly hurt, she picks that Pokemon up, and carts it off to the Pokemon Centre, and that Trainer's gonna get a good earful of her loud mouth when she makes sure that Pokemon will be okay. She has the tongue of a sailor, and isn't afraid to use it. Especially when she's angry.
July doesn't crack often, like, breaking down to cry. She almost never cries anymore, since she's learned to look on the bright side of things and stay positive. But when she does crack, she cracks hard. It's not just a small crying spell, no. It's the whole shebang. She sobs, sometimes for hours, sometimes for days. Maybe even a week, she won't talk to anybody. Just sits outside in her garden and cries. Hearing about death, is the usual reason she cries. Not much else can effect her so greatly. But losing her best friend when she was sent to Whitney made her shed a tear or two, but not much as usual when she cries.
July is a bit boy crazy, to be honest, but she isn't attracted to males just for their 'hottness', but more for their heart. Loving Pokemon, humor, honesty, and kindness are the major things she looks for. July likes the idea of 'belonging' to someone, although she's never had a real boyfriend herself, just one big crush. She waits for tha day to say; 'I'm taken.' to someone. She also likes the idea of catering to her partner, as weird as it sounds. Unlike most girls, who want to be totally independent, she wants to help. Although she wants to help, July won't be a slave to anybody. She doesn't mind cleaning or taking care of future children or such, but she won't actually be the 'property' of a man.
* Appearance:
Body:
July is fairly short, standind a mere five foot four, and is finished growing for the rest of her life. July is satisfied with her height, and enjoys being slightly short to everyone around her. July is also fairly thin, being athletic from all her outdoor activites, and that keeps her in good shape. She has very small feet, even for a shorter girl.
July has deep black hair, that flows to the small of her back. It's been dyed so many times, so many different colors, that it now gives off a slight shine of a rainbow. No joke. The funny thing is, even with all the dying, her hair is very healthy. She keeps it healthy, its just that she's not very good at getting the actual color out of her hair. Some parts of her hair look reddish in the sun, some pink, some blue, some green, some purple, some orange, and some yellow, depending on which section of her hair didn't wash out right. She's actually thinking about dying her hair in a rainbow. July likes color. Bright, happy colors. July's eyes are bright green, almost a blue. She likes wearing coloured contacts to change her eyecolour to match her outfit or current hair dye.
July has a pretty normal face, a small nose and smallish ears, larger, doe-like eyes, and a pretty mouth with plumpish lips. She has a few piercings, one piercing in each other lobes in her ears, a cartilage piercing in her right ear, a nose stud on the left side of her nose, and her naval pierce. She has a very clean face, almost completely acne-free. her skin is fairly tan all year-round.
July likes to wear some make-up, but not too too much. She likes a good, thin-ish line of liquid eyeliner, some mascara on her long lashes, and most likely some light eye shadow to match her outfit/eyes/hair. She also likes lipgloss, but not much lip colour. She likes the natural colour of her lips, so she stears clear of lipstick. July has fairly straight teeth, she had braces when she was younger, but wouldn't really take care of them because she hated having metal in her mouth. When they were off, she only wore her retainer sometimes, which made her backer teeth crooked slightly. She likes to bleach them sometimes, but it makes her uncomfortable to have chemicals in her mouth.
Clothing:
July likes bright coloured clothing, like pink, purple, yellow, blue, green, basically any colour that isn't black. She loves rainbows, especially. She likes short-shorts, camis, tee-shirts, jeans, etc. Mostly everything a teen girl would. Her favourite outfit consists of:
A white tee-shirt, that shows her shoulders and slightly dips down to reveal just before her breasts. It's pure white, as she keeps it very clean. It has a rainbow across her stomach, which sparkles with little bits of glitter. For bottoms, she likes, again, white short-shorts that hug her bottom slightly, with the word 'Smile!' written in colourful cursive letters across the behind, and small yellow smiley face over the left pocket. July wears large, poofy DC shoes, with, not surprisingly, rainbow lettering, and rainbow laces. (Did I mention she likes rainbows?) She likes either neon-coloured or rainbow socks, or, most frequently knee-high rainbow, or mismatching neon, socks.
July likes accessories. She wears larger bangles and bracelets, and silver or multicoloured necklaces. She likes either wearing her side-bang back, or down, almost covering her left eye. She wears cute headbands almost always, sometimes with a clip to keep her bang off her eyes, which bothers her. Most of the time, July will keep her hair down, letting it flow freely, but when ever she starts to get serious and intense, she pulls a hair band she always keeps on her right wrist off, and pulls her hair back.
* History:
July was borne in the city of Violet, to Justin and Fern Kaim. She has two siblings, one older brother, Austin, and one younger sister, Beatrice. July had a fairly happy earlier childhood, normal, as well. She was always the happy-go-lucky girl she is today, always wanting to be outside playing with the Pokemon, or playing sports or games with the other children of the City. July mostly got along with everyone, gaining many friends over the years, with her big brother being his normal, overly-protective self. Austin was the kind of brother that made sure no male got close enough to touch her without him being present. Even from July's young years as a child, he was always overly protective of her innocence, as he didn't want to see his baby sister grow up to be like some of those disgusting girls in his Pokemon school. Despite his clingy-ness, July and Austin became amazing friends, even as brother and sister. July is only two years younger than her brother, so he went off to begin his Pokemon quest when she was eight, leaving July with her snobby younger sister, Beatrice, who is a year younger than July.
Beatrice is your stereotypical snotty girl, even from a young age. She is the complete opposite from July, being judgemental, rude, spiteful, mean, and she grew up to be a complete w****, not heeding the warnings Austin gave her as a younger child. Beatrice hated her older sister with a passion, as July was a more popular person among their peers, and guys seemed to be more interested in July throughout the later years. Finally, Beatrice got frustrated enough to change herself completely. She changed from being July's shadow, and a good little girl, to a s*** with no morals, this happened right after July's 15th birthday, when Beatrice was fourteen. Nobody actually knows how the transition of Beatrice happened, it just did. One day, she woke up, dyed her hair blonde, put on heavy make-up, and went out with revealing clothes on. Their parents supported Beatrice, because they believed that you had to support your children in every new choice they made, as the fad would probably pass. Austin hasn't seen his little sister like this yet, and July doesn't anticipate the day he does. July also supports her sister, because she learned not to judge people by what they wear or what they do.
July was ten when she met her first crush, and best friend. She was playing on the island the small body of water leading to Sprout Tower when a young boy, maybe a year older than she at the time, flew over on a Pigeotto. The Bellsprout July had been playing with hid, in fear of the Flying-type Pokemon. July was angry, which happened more frequently when she was young, and yelled up at the boy to stop scaring the Pokemon. He laughed, and flew down, as he thought she was joking around. When he stepped onto the island, he saw she was actually angry, he apologized quickly, stuttering all through the words. She accepted his apology happily, glad he didn't just laugh at the Bellsprout's fear. He recalled the Pigeotto, so he wouldn't frighten the poor dears anymore, and they came bac out to greet him. He asked how July had gotten all the way out to the island, and July explain nonchalently that she swam. He was impressed that she was strong enough to get all the way out to the island, and introduced himself as Falkner, the son of the current Gym leader of Violet City, and the next Gym Leader of Violet City. July cheerfully introduced herself, and then invited Falkner to play with them. He did so, reluctantly, and July showed him a few of the wonders of the small island; the young bird Pokemon nesting, where the Poliwag play, the Bellsprout's little homes, and even the Magikarp swimming at the bottom of the pond. The two became fast friends, spending most of their days together, maybe play-battling with Falkner's father's Pokemon, or just playing with the other children.
July's ambition was to become a Nurse in Violet City, and could start training when she was fourteen. Her parent's were very disappointed, as even Beatrice had chosen the life of a Coordinator, and had started her journey when she was ten, bu they reluctantly allowed her to train for Nurse, as they wanted to be fair with their children. July decided to stay around, and train in the art of healing instead of battling, and signed herself up when she was almost fourteen, so she would definately get a spot at the Violet City Pokemon Centre. She liked hanging around Violet City after the mandatory three years (seven years of age to ten) of Pokemon school as she had more time with Falkner, although they were frequently teased (not meanly) about being boyfriend and girlfriend, although they were not.
When July turned fourteen, she was accepted into the training program for Nurses. She was thrilled, naturally, and started at the Violet City Pokemon Centre right away, so she could become a full Nurse sooner rather than later. She had to go to the school for five years, and would be a full Nurse when she was twenty. The number surprised her, but she stayed confident, wanting to be her best and maybe be able to graduate a bit early. Falkner started as the Gym Leader of Violet City the same year, he was fifteen. His father had retired, and left him in charge. July and Falkner drifted a bit from each other, as both now had greater responsibilities, and couldn't spend mindless days out in the sun all the time anymore.
July was in the middle of her first year of training when a pack of Growlithe moved through the outskirts of the City. July watched them mill about, fascinated by their family ways and customs. She noticed one Growlithe who seemed younger and weaker than the others, the outcast. She watched it sit alone, licking one paw ceaselessly. She realized that it's paw was broken, or maybe just badly sprained. None the less, July was worried, although she knew it would be dangerous to try to help the young Pokemon. She went back to her house, but never stopped thinking about it.
In the next few days, the pack moved on. July went to check to see if the young pup was left behind, and she was right. She found the poor young thing under a little bush, whimpering softly. It was greatly afraid when July approached, but calmed down slightly when she gave it a Poffin to eat. July wouldn't be able to carry the Growlithe, as she had almost no upper-body strength, but didn't want to ask for help. That was the stubborn streak in her coming into the light. So she gave the Growlithe another Poffin, and silently touched the button of a Pokeball to Growlithe's fur, making it disappear inside the ball in a red light. The ball shook rapidly for a moment, a sign of the Growlithe's fear, but it proved to be too weak to break free. July wasted no time, and ran to the Pokemon Centre to get her new Growlithe healed. When she was absolutely sure it would be okay, she apologized to it for not even askinbg permission. Forgiveness was granted, but reluctantly. July offered to release it into the wild, to go back to it's family, but it refused, wanting to stay with July. She nicknamed the Growlithe Naomi, and deemed her as her first Pokemon
When July just turned fifteen, Whitney's School was announced, and her parents jumped at the idea. They signed July up without even asking her or considering her feelings, and carted her off to Goldenrod without a second thought. July was furious, but tried to stay positive and go without any drama. She went to pack a small backpack bag with some essentials, and put on her new Pokeball belt. (Rainbow coloured) Right before she left, she told Falkner, who begged her to just stay, keep up with her training, and she could live with him. She laughed, and shook her head no with a smile. Right before she left him, however, she kissed him lightly, something she'd wanted to do since she was thirteen. She now knows that that was a seriously cliche, and kind of cruel, thing to do, and regrets it sometimes.
Now July is in Goldenrod, and she hasn't seen or heard from her two siblings since they left for thei journeys.
* Pokemon:
Species: Growlithe
Gender: Female
Nickname: Naomi
Level: 7
Moves: Bite, Roar, Ember
Personality: Naomi is a very quiet and shy kind of Growlithe. She was thought to be the weakest of the Growlithe/Arcanine 'pack' that had migrated through Violet City. She's not much for strangers, and still doesn't completely trust July yet, as is normal for a new Pokemon. Naomi doesn't particularly like to fight, and that could prove to be a sufficient weakness in the battle field.

The wind whipped around July's head, blowing her hair in all different directions. She ran her fingers through her tangled hair, trying to keep it at least partially presentable looking. She faced her opponent with a grin, and waved.
"Hiya! I'm July, what's your name?" she said happily, and the slightly older female trainer smirked.
"I'm Dee." she answered shortly, and crossed her arms.
Awesome, what's your favorite color, Dee?" July asked cheerfully, and Dee snorted and rolled her eyes.
"What does that have to do with anything?" she asked, July's cheerful attitude getting on her nerves.
"Nothing, I'm just curious. You seem to wear a lot of black, and, excuse my bluntness, but you'd look better in brighter colours." July said, and shrugged. "But that's just my opinion."
"I don't care about your opinions, let's just get ths battle over with, okay?" Dee said irritably, and July shrugged.
"Sure, whatever. I was just being friendly." she said, and waited for Dee to call out her Pokemon.
"Fine, this is a one-on-one battle, first Pokemon to fall, loses. Ready?" Dee asked, and July nodded eagerly, hiding tha fact that she didn't like the whole violence thing in this profession. "You'd better be! Go, Seel!" A small Seel materialized out of the Pokeball, and gave a sharp call of excitement. July just smiled, although she was aware of the fact that Growlithe would be at a serious type disadvantage. She always was aware of the fact that Naomi's paw wasn't completely healed yet.
"Okay! Naomi!" July called, and threw her own Pokebal into the air, and the young Growlithe appeared, looking very uncomfortable on the battle field. She barked softly, sheepishly. She faced her opponent in a less confident matter than July.
"I'll go first! Okay, Seel, start off with Headbutt!" Dee called out, and the Seel rushed forward with surprising speed, July called for Naomi to dodge it, but was slightly too late. Seel hit Naomi right in the chest with the Headbutt, knocking her over. She whimpered, but go back on her feet.
"You okay, Naomi?" July called, and Naomi nodded once, hesitantly. July smiled. "Okay, then. Use Ember!" Naomi moved to face Seel, and a flame was gathering in her mouth. It shot out at the Water-type, and hit it right on the forehead, burning it slightly, but not doing all that much damage. Seel cringed at the burn, bu continued.
"Seel, Water Sport!" Dee commanded, and Seel turned it's head upwards, shooting water into the sky, like rain. It showered over both Seel and Naomi's bodies, slickening the Fire-type's fur, making her shiver slightly. She hated water with a passion, and it wasn't helping that the wind was blowing around her, chilling her further.
"C'mon, Naomi! You can do it!" July urged, but was worried about Naomi's safety. "Use Ember on yourself, dry yourself off! Then use Bite on Seel!" The Growlithe obeyed, heating it's own fur with Ember, and drying off. The she sprang forward, but cringing when she landed on her hurt foot, and bit Seel right on the abdomen, making it squeal slightly. July cringed, as she had told Naomi to do that, she caused the Pokemon's pain. She silently sent an apology to the Seel.
"Headbutt, close contact!" Dee called, and Naomi was knocked on her back with the force of the blow.
"Now, Water Sport, Seel! Then use Icy Wind!" she called, and July winced, she had kind of saw this coming since the other incident with water not five minutes ago. Seel excecuted the moves automatically, and Naomi was left shivering on the ground, her fur completely frozen by the Icy Wind.
July called out for Ember, and a weak flame erupted from Naomi's mouth, then her head fell back on the ground in faint. Dee jumped up in triumpt, and hugged her Seel.
July ran to her her Pokemon desperately, and melted the ice with an Ice Heal. She looked Naomi over for any serious injuries, and only found a few cuts and bruises under her fur. She quickly used some berries to heal them, and Naomi woke up groggily, giving her trainer's hand a lick for her efforts. July laughed, and smiled happily at her Pokemon.
"Ohh, don't be upset, July." a taunting voice said behind her. "I've just been traing Seel longer than you and your Growlithe. it's only natural that I won."
"Oh, I'm not upset! I had a great time, and Naomi's just fine! Congratulations on winning!" July smiled at Dee, and then recalled Naomi for a good rest.
"Thanks." Dee said shortly, and stalked off with her Seel in her arms. July was confused, but shrugged, stood up, and wiped her white shorts off.
"Well, that was an interesting experience." she said to herself happily, and wandered off.

* Pokemon:
