It's hard to say my exact favorite, but I have a favorite from every generation. ^^

Generation I - Hitokage (Charmander) , Fushigisou/Kameiru (Ivysaur/Wartortle), Rizaadon (Charizard)

Generation II - All three, Magmarashi (Quilava), Bakufuun/Meganiumu (Typhlosion/Meganium)

Generation III - Kimori (Treecko), Juputoru/Wakashamo (Grovyle/Combusken), Jukain (Sceptile)

Generation IV - Naetoru (Turtwig) , Hayashigame/Moukazaru (Grotle/Monferno), Dodaitosu (Torterra)​

1st gen: Charmander
2nd gen: Cyndaquil (Like so many of you said, Quilava rules :p)
3rd gen: Treecko's the favorite, but I always pick Torchic because of the lack of other decent fire types in RSE
4th gen: Chimchar

All-time favorite, Cyndaquil, Quilava rules :p

Charmander. I usually go for the cool looking ones. And it always seemed to be the Fire type. Except in diamond i picked a Piplup.

Kanto: Hardd decision. Bulbasaur.
Johto: Cyndaquil, durr.
Hoenn: Mudkip.
Sinnoh: Piplup.<3 (second favorite starter.)
