Whoa, that's rare!!

When I first got Platinum, I got really excited to catch Chansey's. She's one of my favorite pokemon(she's just so darn cute), and I caught three or four of them cos I knew my mom would want one if she ever got a DS. One of the Chansey's was holding a Lucky Egg, which at that time, I didn't know what the f it was for. But once I found out, I went to try to catch more Chansey's, and I haven't seen one since. o_O
 
Another one I noticed while filling out my PokeDex in Sapphire - Relicanth! I usually find it fairly easily, but it took me upwards of four hours to find it. Then I go to Mt. Pyre and find Chimecho in 45 or so minutes. Then I try for the elusive Surskit (1% chance of finding it in every route it appears). I surf run into a Marill, run, surf more, and yay! Surskit!
 
Ya,I have things like that happen before and then i go tell how long it took and he/she will be like "wow really took me 5 minutes"Makes me so mad.
 
I can recall two:

Male Nidoran in Leaf Green with an Attack increasing nature. It took over two hours and numerous soft resets to find one

Female Meowth in Soul Silver with Attack increasing nature and Technician ability. This one was another hunt that cost me several hours of my life that I can never get back.

All this as well as the elusive species in the Safari Zone. That place is rigged.
 
Yanma in SS. It didn't take me terribly long (must've been 40 minutes of running away from those stupid ugly venonat), but I found a shiny Nidoran in the process at least.
