I often wake up an hour or two before I'm supposed to rise. Usually I just go back to sleep contentedly, because it's in those morning hours that I get dreams that I can remember. And I like dreams.
This is something that happens somewhat often for me, where I can't sleep or wake up in the middle of the night and can't get back to sleep . Could be an insomniac and not know it. Probably not but never know.
When it happens I try going back to sleep and when after a certain amount of failed attempts, I'll wake up and get on the computer for a bit or take sleep pills, and then go back upstairs to try to sleep. Usually I then fall back to sleep in a few minutes.
Sometimes I can't stand waking up too early, because usually the heat from the house is enough to wake me up, to the point I can't go back to sleep. Usually it's not a problem for me to drift off back to sleep.
I'm an extremely deep sleeper, so if I wake up in the middle of the night it's probably because one of my birds is having a nightmare. So after I tend to them, I normally just curl back up in my bed and try to sleep. If I can't, I'll get some hot chocolate which helps... although I never drink it because I fall asleep waiting for it to cool off. XD
I'm an insomniac. When I go to sleep and wake up at 2 or 3 am, I just end up watching TV or reading. That's almost an hour wasted, so hopefully I'd be sleeping by then. If not, then hellooooooo deprivation.
