Why are there many Nurse Joys and the other women? Do you like this idea or is it boring to see the same chick every episode?

    It's definitely silly.
When I first watched Pokemon and they were all nurse joy's, the excuse 'we're sisters' made me cringe and think about how lazy the writers must really be.
The fact that they can't even come up with a few more characters?
    Joy isn't even hot.
She just has stupid pink hair.
That's my opinion on the matter. :P

I believe it was joke about how all the nurses in the games are the same. It looks like they're getting replacements though.

    i really wouldnt know hahaha

I'm guessing by the other woman you mean Officer Jenny.

Well I think it's because it's a lot easier to just use the same design and voice for characters that are commonly throughout the anime. Think of how much extra work it would be to redesign a nurse or officer every time they appear in the anime. I also think it's easier for the children who watch the show to identify certain characters if they always look the same.

The idea of all the Officer Jennys and Nurse Joys to be related and look the same is quite outlandish, but it just makes the anime easier for everyone. The younger kids can follow along easily and the animators don't have to constantly design new characters.

Hey, well, it doesn't matter anymore. Like kirbychu said, the Best Wishes anime will change the nurses and officers.

But wait! What if these new Joys and Jennys will also be cloned? NOOOO!!!!

...Personally, I think the Joys are cloned from a mad scientists' lab far away, hidden...maybe Isshu?

Of course it's stupid. But I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be. :P

I've read a comic named Pokemon-X in which all the Joy's had different names and looks, for example Nurse Glutton (Being a fat nurse) and Sloth (Brown hair and usually in a pretty bad mood). That would work for me!

I think there susposed to be 18 nurse joy's.What i do not get is if there are more then 18 pokemon centers i know for sure.

Nurse Joys are a species of Pokemon. Anyone remember the green haired one in Fuchsia City (GSC)? That was a shiny form. However, they are treated as humans in the Pokemon world out of the fear that sickos like Brock will start collecting them.

I'm not exactly sure, but I think the very first Nurse Joy's goal was to care for Pokemon around the world, and wanted her daughters before her to take on the role of caring for Pokemon when she's gone.

the nurse joys and officer jennys make for good signature characters and it contributes to the cuteness of the franchise, i dont think the characters were a dumb or lazy idea, just cute

Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny were characters added, in my opinion, because Pokémon is a kids series and it made things easier.

Think about it, if you're a kid then you won't really look to learn different types of names just for one nurse because she was a minimal character. I know if they had different names for her, I would have made it easier for myself and just called her 'nurse'. So, to have one name for every nurse in the game just makes it easier for people to remember and note. The same goes for Officer Jenny.

I have no idea, but it's kind of silly/lame. Though, I haven't watched pokemon in forever. I mostly just play the games now. xD

Yes it's stupid but that's how it's meant to be. xD
I guess it just saves animators time and money. :P I don't think children that watch the show have too much of a problem with it.
