Why do people choose 1.0 Fire Red ROMs over 1.1 ROMs?

    I'm sorry if this belongs in the quick questions and answers thread or the beginner's lounge but this is really bugging me. Why would people choose to use 1.0 Fire Red ROMs over the more common 1.1 ones? I could only find one site which had a 1.0 ROM and it doesn't look safe. Does 1.0 have a different internal structure that's more easier to use for ROM hackers?

    If your problem is trying to find a rom to patch so that you can play a hack,it's really simple.All you have to do is find a US version of FireRed that says (Squirrels) at the end of the rom's name.

    Apparently the weird thing is I can't use a copy of the same Squirrels ROM over and over again, I always need to download a new one every time I patch. Thanks for helping me discover this!

    The reason is, the 1.1 ROM shifts the addresses of everything around, so nothing is in the same place. People started on the 1.0 version, as it was more common when Firered hacking started. Therefore, it was the one that was researched and worked on, while 1.1 wasn't. Nowadays, finding a 1.0 in the wild is more difficult, therefore most dumps are 1.1.

    Weird.I used an app called Rom Patcher,it's on android.Thing is,after you patch a file together,a brand new file will appear,and that will be the rom hack you're going to play.But the Fire Red(clean) rom remained intact.
