Why do people use Legendaries in the EF?

I think that Gamefreak should make it so Legendaries are banned in the EF. I makes them to easy, especially in Emerald (except against Glacia) when you get to catch a Level 70 Raquaza. Why do you people ruin the fun in the final part of the game?

Really it is up to them. If they want to make it easy let them, Nintendo shouldn't limit what Pokemon can be taken into the Elite 4.

Emerald is the only occasion where that happens.

And how the hell is the Elite Four easy with Rayquaza?

Sidney's Absol, and Phoebe's entire team, use up all your pp.

Glacia gets super-effective STAB against you with a bulky Walrein.

Drake Intimidates you with Salamence, then kills you.

Wallace's entire team are bulky, and know Ice Beam.

Oh, not to mention with a team most likely in the low to mid-40s, it's extremely hard to catch Rayquaza without using the Master Ball.

And they won't ban legendaries, as they make each plot more and more legendary-centric, so why focus on them all the way through, then stop you using them? Doesn't make sense...

How weird, I don't use them *hides Latios*.

I think they use them because they become overpowered easily.

Well, it's your team. They can't ban you from using something that might be your favorite, otherwise what was the point of catching said legendary?

    True.

Even a Trainer in the Anime will use a legendary (Darkrai).

Legendaries have always existed so that you can stand a viable chance against the E4, even if the pokemon you've raised since the beginning of the game are horribly underlevelled and poorly trained. I know my first playthrough of Blue way back when I was 11, my E4 team consisted of nothing but Blastoise, Pidgeot, Beedrill, Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres. XD guess which three of those weren't underlevelled. XD

I feel that's completly up to the user, it's there team after all and there game. Why should anyone else care how they beat the in game story mode? However I don't use them on my team, I do catch them though I feel there like a prize for beating the game :).

Let me tell you, bud, even with a Level 70 Rayquazza, I couldn't beat the Elite Four. Half of the Pokemon there carry super effective moves:

Sidney is a pushover, doesn't count. One of Phoebe's Dusclops runs Ice Beam and survives your Outrage. All of Glacia's Pokemon have STAB Ice moves, all of Drake's have STAB Dragon moves. Wallace's Waters all carry Ice moves anyway. =|

All other legendaries are caught at levels similar to what your normal Pokemon would be there, so they don't count.

In the end, though, it's their choice to "ruin their fun". :| Maybe they find destroying stuff fun? I sure do.

lol the main game this is a problem in is Emerald. Regardless of what anyone says beating the E4 literally is childs play. If you know what your doing(which I did at the time) you can beat all of them without getting KO'ed or losing. I got through everyone there up to Lance's Wailord(lol and it hit me with Water Spout so I kept going XD) and won in like 10 minutes.
Wow rant but anyway i guess its up to the trainer, and besides, a pokemon noob will still fail epically beacuse they will just spam a powerful pokemon, eve nagainst a type disadvantage, attack the pokemon and it will have like 1 hp left and get owned with Ice Beam or Earthquake(lol how many legendaries does that cover)

Edit: Of couse the E4 carry super effective moves like say Ice Beam or whatever. Take the Sinnoh e4. Like every single team had an Ice and Ground attack. Why, beacuse....
    1. Grchomp can stomp pretty much any pokemon in their ranks
    2. Dialga is weal to Ground.
    3. All dragons are ludacrisly powerful.
    4. A good Steel type resists like 90% of the moves they use, making Steel better than it was in previous games.
They need to have esome counter against a lvl 70 Raquazza.

I used to love my legendaries. It wasn't just the power of them but also the fact that it felt like an accomplishment to have caught the legendary, so why not use it?

Now I only use one legendary, if any, and make it my final option in the E4. It's fun to have a challenge, but it's also fun to have a backup pokemon if things aren't going well. Maybe it's just because I get too impatient when I'm training on Victory Road.

I hate using legendaries against E4. I prefer grind and properly learn and trade between FR/LG and E my own team without legendaries.

I used a Flygon and One Hit KOed all their pokemon lol

The first time I beat the Elite 4 in Pearl I had a horribly under-levelled team, bar a level 70 Palkia. The idea was, defeat elite 4, unlock stuff.

I don't tend to use legendaries much these days. I usually wait until I'm ready to EV train before I catch legendaries.

In my expirience, people use legendaries to beat the game not necessarily easier, but quicker.

I think if your 9 go ahead and use them, but if you can actually put a team together and use some skill, then no legends. The choice is up to you.

I hate legendaries, I catch 'em and trade 'em

I remember when I was little I use to catch Zapdos and Articuno as soon as I beat Koga so I had two level 50s when I fought Sabrina, Blaine, Giovanni(Gym and Saffron City) and so I could totally own up my rival and the E4. Now it just doesn't seem right doing that. It feels like cheating if a Pokemon I caught without training could sweep one of the E4 with its starting moves.
