Why do religion topics get closed?

Ummm hi guys i'm just wondering why religion topics get closed

how come there's discussion threads allowed that go against most religions views like abortion threads and pre-marriage sex threads?

I can vouch for that. I've been a part of one once. If you really feel that strongly to stay long enough for a whole topic on it, then you feel strongly enough that no matter what the other person says, you're not going to change your mind, and they're likely not to change their minds either. They become pointless and just for the sake of arguing.

They do get ugly fast. I understand the OP might not intend to flame any religion, but the conversations tend to go off into other flamey tangents.

Well it's obviously just bad luck because Pokemon and Religion don't mix XP

Really, religion spurts hellfire flamewars anywhere. Because there are so many degrees of sensitivity to religion, too many clashy opinions simply have to be shouted. Not even sexuality can be calmly discussed because we just attract too many younger members and... I don't want to say, but in reality not everyone attracted here is fully mature.

Besides, it's been against the OC rules since May, so don't chill about this anymore.

I've got to add that this is an online community. So, people have different ideas to an argument. Fair enough, right? Well, it seems a certain amount of PC don't believe in anyone else's ideas. They are right and everyone who says anything close to different from them is wrong. And if you're wrong, you get trolled. Y..yeah, it isn't happening.

Because, most of PC is like 13 year old kids. Most 13 year olds are very narrow-minded/immature. Religion is not a topic for people who posess said traits, cause it devolves into useless arguments on both sides. This is why they cannot exist, Kurtrill.

Because religion topics NEVER go anywhere almost without any exceptions, and have a tendency to invoke offensive behavior.

This is because religion happens to be a topic in which people's opinions, regardless of their own intelligence, have a tendency to lack political correctness. It's ignorance, like others have said, and ignorance can be quite offensive sometimes...

Meh, I don't miss them. Best just to live and let live.

Simply, because some people are too set in their ways and won't accept that there are other 'Gods' out there, or even the idea. So that ends up sparking some angered responses off.

I would love to see some intellectual discussion on here. So what if it is a Pokemon Forum? Doesn't mean that the advantage member has the IQ of a peanut. I doubt it will ever happen though.
