I've notice that speedrunners will often save and reset in some locations like Route 22 for the Nidoran and stuff like that. Why?

It's RNG manipulation, basically. They save and reset so that they get Nidoran. Nidoking is great in Speedrunning, if i recall correctly.

Exactly. The time you save in the mid and late game is well worth it. Always remember to keep it in red health too!
