why does pc want to know my location?

i was on mobile (ios) not logged in and on the home page and a dialog box popped up saying that pokecommunity.com wants to know my location. exited out of the box before i could take a screenshot but realised it seemed a bit strange.

Never happened to me. Weird.
Maybe it's an ios thing?

I tried to replicate this by browsing around with my Android phone and could not, fwiw.

I'm on iOS and never seen it either. But maybe it's got something to do with new ads wanting to fetch local relevant stuff #guess

Yeah might be the ads, couldn't think of a reason PC itself would try to access my location
