    So I want to add a third type to this hack, but it keeps getting replaced with ???. I tried looking through the code and I couldn't find anything. Anyone have any ideas?
     
    It's hard to say anything specific without looking at all the related code changes you made to implement the feature, but make sure you update all the functions that deal with setting up a Pokemon's type information; CopyPlayerPartyMonToBattleData, BattleIntroDrawTrainersOrMonsSprites, SetMonTypeIcons, etc, etc.
