Question: Why was my avatar reset?

Basically; When I registered here on PCm I had set and used this avatar which I'm currently using.
Which was about a month ago // a month back.

I'd like to know why my avatar was reset back to a question mark // blank avatar. I had discovered my avatar was reset when I logged in this evening not too long ago.

I didn't see any avatar rules or guidelines.

PC was broken into by hackers late last month, and they attacked the files which stored things like avatars and profile pics, and that caused users' avatars to get compromised and that's why they appeared as broken images or question marks.

The forums were hacked a short while ago, and the part that stored avatars and other such images (like profile images) was lost. So everyone's avatars were reset and had to be uploaded again.
