I never really faced a good Wobbufet user, but I always knew there's something very wrong about this pokemon, and that unbanning him was a really bad idea. Here's why.

Rules: Ladder Match, Sleep Clause, Freeze Clause, OHKO Clause, Evasion Clause, Species Clause, Strict Damage Clause

    Your thoughts?

Taunt isn't enough to beat Wobby. Does that mean all teams MUST fit a Taunter? We have so much to squeeze in, do we really have room to make sure it fits as well? And even if, the only surefire counter is to make sure all pokes are mixed and all pokes have either Taunt or Sub, and any good Wobby user knows how to make it an element of surprise.

I hate wobba's unban, as it has also brought the wobba Dugtrio combo into the light, and it's extremely annoying.

I lead with tuanters these days, and do have one on every team just because of wonba, which in my eyes seems like overcentralization.

Like in this warstory, wobba is too powerful, a good user with a wobba can be dangerous >.>

And do you know why many supports wobba's ban? As if two wobba meet in battle the game basically locks and your there forever, which wastes our fastpased metagame. a one on one wobba duel is HAIL!

Sucks man, i know how you feel, happened to me. It just struggle stalls you. Tbh, unless you run a shed shell or Taunt on everything, theres pretty much nothing you can do. They have the element of surprise and can bring in that blue nightmare whenever they feel like.

I cant wait for it to get put back up to uber, its inevitable IMO, its going to over centralizing the metagame.

It also breaks the point of battleling, that being able to switch.

    LOL trap team : - Wobba/Duggy/Weavile/Magnezone..

WHY YOU MAKE THIS THREAD SO LONG ):<

    Wobbuffet should be uber. ö Substitute is your friend. Unless Encore goes through the sub 00;;;

    lmao, Bronzong. XD

That is fixed on shoddy so you can switch. It's the last thing that bothers me. =\

    oh really? I never heard.

Anyways, yeah I agree with D_A, even if it is out of the top 10 used pokemon on shoddy, I think it's like 17? anyways it's changing how we make our teams, doesnt that count for overcentralization, I'd like to see the stats of tuant and substitute since wobba entry. Bet that has spiked.

But like in your warstory, it's ruining the fast pased FUN of the metagame.

It's people like us to blame for the lack of Wobba usage. We just feel it's Uber and refuse to use it ourselves, so it appears as it's not really overused at all. But if some -specific- person didn't get up one morning and decided to change to world of pokemon - this would've never been an issue.

There are a few things that lessened Wobba in DP:
    -Taunt lasting 2-5 Turns
    -Shed Shell
-An actually decent Ghost/Dark Type (Has Pressure and, like Sableye, is immune to both Counter and Mirror Coat)
-More Entry Hazzards (Stealth Rocks and Toxic Spikes)
-Physical Pursuit (Most of the Pokemon that learn it can use it now)
-Secondary effect of Shadow Tag: When two Pokemonw ith Shadow Tag Meet, they cancel out each other's Ability

Syaoran: at least the lips are luscious

was that referring to female wobuffets wearing lipstick ? XD

Im even ok with Deoxys being moved down, i mean, come on that thing can hardly sweep. Wobby, is just.....no.

    B4C|< 2 UB3RZ NO4W !!11

@Dunsparce, your forgetting, if we all must use Taunt and shed shell, its over centralization. Wobby stalls spikes users and makes them struggle......as seen in this log

Also wobby can survive pursuits, if it stays in and counter your ass.

Yes it was the only thing that kept me from punching the screen xDD

    - Entry Hazard is what brought DOOM to my Bronzong.. lol.
    - Now forcing us to carry a Sableye or Spiritomb in every team? \=
    - Pursuit doesn't scare him much, when he can guarantee a counter kill by staying in.
    - So I should start carrying Shed Shell on all pokemon that aren't ghosts/taunters? =.=

I'm not saying you can't deal with it. Sure you can. But the fact is that Wobba can come on a poke that CAN'T deal with it, and there are a lot more of those.

I've found that Encore on Shoddy lasts a LONG, random time. Many turns. Like ten, or something. Maybe it's just me? O_o

EDIT: See? I thought it lasts 2-5 turns, but the first Encore on Syaoran's battle lasted 9 turns!

So what you are saying, I must have a Spiritomb/Pursuit using/Taunt/Shed Skin on ALL my pokes in order to play in this metagame?

    No, no, no @.@;

What I meant was that DP introduced things that Wobby doesn't like too much.

I was not, by any means, reccomending any of that should be put on every team.

EDIT: U-Turn helps, too. SE Damage, and you switch out.

NOW you guys agree with me and Syaoran, of course :P

As I've always said, Wobbuffet in the hands of a player who can use it WILL destroy a ton of stuff. Whoever used Wobby as a lead was very smart. think about it, Bulky leads are countered to death and absolutely hammered (and almost none use Toxic so that's out of the picture). Also, stuff like Scarf Gar which people think so highly of now go to ruins. Even if they sleep wobby, it'll just stall Gar out of PP, and Shadow Ball is asking for a Mirror coat OHKO.

I'm glad somebody posted something like this. I'm so tired of Shoddy throwing these usage statistics at us and saying it's proof wobbuffet is not uber. If Kyogre was unbanned and nobody used it, would it still be a non-uber? They also say so much can counter it, but of course so much more can't :/

Anyways, I also hate when people go "lol Taunt > Wobbuffet." Who in their right mind puts Wobby in against something with Taunt? Since you can't switch, it is just...uber, I'm sorry.

But with my meltdown aside, I'll respond to some other stuff. I don't see how Taunt and Spirirtomb nerf Wobby at all. Simple, it just won't go in on them but will decimate the rest of your team. Pursuit just asks for a OHKO with counter as well. Also skarmory and the occasional Forretress or Bronzong are the only pokemon you really see with Shed Shell. Again, it's just a few pokemon.

The only way you can really beat it is to either escape with Shed Shell, Taunt it (lol like you'll have a chance), or to overpower its average defenses, which is your best shot. still, all that HP...ew.

So yes, I 110% support the banning of this broken pokemon. Of course, until they do, come ready with a Taunter lead every time you battle me because I will do whatever it takes to overrule this awful unbanning.

EDIT: Even the things that hurt Wobbuffet still don't really...hurt it. It can survive weaker Pursuits and say "lol OHKO" and counter back. Honestly that's the only hazard I see actually hurting it at all. The others are just way too minor to even be thought of almost...Wobby is just that good.

That's the thing. Simply having things Wobby doesn't like isn't enough. In order to counter it, you must make your entire team that way.

He literally ruins the metagame, by limiting what we are allowed to use. I can't even use my Raichu anymore with this thing out. He will always be able to pop up and cause havok, by Struggle stalling. And if they have a wish passer...it's over.

On a lighter note, I am now able to say I finally get what yaw'll mean when you said "over cetralizing".

this guy is at 2 on the ladder last time I checked.

Also, with the uturn comment, jirachi worksnice. If the ability keeps him in, then he won't laugh at a super effective attack from a base 100 attack poke.

Toxic might help against wobby too. ( Not on jirachi.)

So will we all need to use Toxic on every poke in case it comes in on Wobby?
