Smogon's guide is here and there are a lot of really good videos on YouTube too. I've also been using a guide for "dummies" which was a little helpful since Smogon can be a bit daunting at first. Trying to follow both guides and a video at the same time makes it unnecessarily complicated though.

i'll look into all of them and begin my own little experiments.

Well for a while I had all three open in separate tabs, but the WiiPals guide wasn't following the same directions as the video, though Smogon's guide is basically the same as the WiiPals guide. WP just goes into more detail about some steps, but once you understand what "use this seed" means then you don't really need it.
 
Anyone know where I can find a guide for RNGing in HGSS?
I've yet to find one.

Enter a random ID/SID instead of your actual ID/SID. That is the only way I know, according to bearfan's video.

Yay! it would have been easier on plat but i wanted the eggmove
now im going to make a squirtle with water spout, well not now =/

its rather hard to find shiny eggs on frame one, i like those :D
 
Okay so I tried RNGing for a shiny on Soul Silver and I epically failed. :U

I think I know what I did wrong though but I'll try again tomorrow as I'm being lazy at the moment. :/
