Will there ever be a pokemon series where the 3 main characters are all grown up

    In this thread i'm asking if there will be a Pokemon All Grown Up series where Ash,Brock and Misty are all grown up and still traveling together

    I think it will happen eventually. It will take awhile, but I believe they will grow up with the generation the show is geared toward in Japan. The story seems to have already gotten slightly more serious. I actually wonder if it will be soon?

    Other shows have done this before, Digimon 0.1, Dragonball, and a few others. I'm sure it will happen in Pokemon sooner or later.

    It would be funny to see Jessie, James and Meowth as older characters...

    It'd be fun to see them older ^^ and hopefully all with fully evolved pokemon >.>
    But i dont know if pokemon would do that -may worry about losing the younger audience

    Not gonna happen. It'd be cool, but it won't happen. Like Claire said, they would lose to many fans, what I think they'll do in a few years is just get a new cast.

    Yeah, that's a good point. They might get a completely new cast.

    But it all depends on how they want to market Pokemon, since the original intended audience in Japan is getting older. If they keep it geared toward that particular audience, the characters might end up getting older.

    If they keep the focus on just the younger age group, then we will probably see a cast overhaul in the near future.

    One of two things will happen. Either the cast will entirely change, and the storyline will remain relatively the same, or everyone will age and the show will take a more serious (and possibly darker) turn.

    most of the pokemon lovers of today are part of the first generation group though(at least I think) so they may keep the main characters.... just a theory

    I think that it will eventually happen. I think people may start to get a little sick of the same old characters.

    As for Claire's point, Ash & friends wouldn't be the center of attention in the show when/if it happens.

    Ash is slowly maturing and aging (I think he's a bit taller now), so if they keep him long enough, I think he'll eventually get older. As for the other characters, who knows what's going to be done with them...

    My theory is they may age them, although maybe not to such an extent they are adults. Some people theorize they may switch characters soon like digimon does every season. Problem with that theory is that the POkemon chars have been around much longer, and people have gotten attachments to them. And even teh digimon people didn't like it when all the older characters were dropped for newer ones in season 3. So I think Ash will simply age a bit.

    Pokemon and their three characters? O_o;;; Or five? May and Max are on the show, y'know...

    The characters growing seems like a dumb idea, IMO. Like Pogi (Can I call you that? I feel lazy.) said, the Digimon fanbase hated the fact that their favorite characters grew up into adults. At least I think they did. o_O;;;

    Besides the Pokemon characters growing up would mean a more mature script unless they changed characters. And SBaby, Ash became smaller. o.o; According to one show, I forgot the name, Ash was smaller than Gary and in the first one he was actually level. o.o;

    Yeah, I hated when that happened... I hope the same thing doesn't happen in Pok?mon!

    I personally don't think that they'll ever make the characters into adults and continue using them as the main characters. But I'm guessing that sooner or later they'll make Ash and co. into older teengers, maybe around 15-16 years old. They wouldn't be too old --young enough to appeal to younger kids, but old enough to atleast make the show seem a bit more mature-- and they might create some new traveling companions to replace May and Max, or bring back Misty and keep Brock like the old days, etc. I doubt they'd ever kick Ash out of the show because he's been the main character all along, and the Pok?mon series just wouldn't be the same without him and Pikachu!

    What Asher Said about digimon I liked it but it won't work on pokemon. Chances they will show something like 10 years later they will be shown grown up and there may be a new cast.

    I know! *Laughs*It'll be mad funny!:laugh:

    I think it will happen eventually. After all , there's only SO far you can go with the same cast.

    Besides then it would leave room for a new cast and some changes.

    As I've said before - The anime seems to follow the path of the games. So maybe they'll start over in the Kanto region with a new crew and additions like the Pokemon Contests , the original gym leaders doing double battles , the Sevi (rainbow) Island .... heck maybe they'd make Ash the Viridan City Gym leader XD

    Hmm, I wonder if this Pok?mon card is any kind of a sign?

    ** It might be a spoiler, so I'll just post the link instead of the image **

    The characters all look like the main ones, except older. From left-to-right... Misty, Ash, Professor Oak, Tracy, Brock, (...But he has his eyes open. >_> IT'S NOT HIM!) and Delia.

    I have no idea at all if those are actually the same characters. I know nothing about that card--I just saw the picture of it a long time ago in one of my old Pok?mon magazines and got the idea to post it here. Does anyone know if those are the actual characters? I doubt it, but I'm still curious. If so then that could be a sign right there!

    I think that would be very cool. ^0^ But theie Pokemon would all be old, the poor things. XD But still, it would be a neat twist to see them all older. Maybe Misty will grow her hair out! X3

    that would be SO COOL!!!!to see the crew grown up!

    Ugh. I really don't want to see them grow up. I like them the way they are.

    And about Misty. I like her the way she is right now, but she doesn't look that much different 3 years from now, considering that her hair barely got longer. (Gold/Silver series)

    If they decide to consider making a Pok?mon series having older characters as the main ones, then I really think that they'd use an entirely different cast. They've already taken the first steps with Pok?mon Coliseum, considering that technology in Orre far exceeds that of Kanto, Johto, or Hoenn.

    And Pok?mon aging...
    Pikachu won't necessarily evolve when it gets older. In fact, Pok?mon don't have to evolve when they get older. The best recent example was the old Treeko from the group where Ash got his Treeko. The only exceptions that I can think of this rule are baby Pok?mon Pichu, Clefa, Igglybuff, Magby, Elekid, Tyrogue, Smoochum, Azuril, and Wynaut. (comon, can you imagine a wrinkly Pichu???)
