World Vegetarian Day

World Vegetarian Day was founded in 1977 by the North American Vegetarian Society (NAVS) and was endorsed by the International Vegetarian Union in 1978.
October 1st is the annual kick-off of Vegetarian Awareness Month.
If you are a vegetarian or agree with the vegetarian cause, let's celebrate!

I didn't know there was a vegetarian day, let alone a whole month. :o I'm mot a vegetarian but I do try to eat in an environmentally conscious way, which happens to involve mostly not-meat. I'm also always impressed with people who stick to vegetarianism when meat is such a staple food in most places. :)

I'm a vegetarian so... cool.
Honestly it wasn't hard for me to drop meat, as I never really liked it anyways.
I'm glad some of my friends are vegetarians, they taught me a lot about what I can and can't eat.
