As someone who has never even battled in the in-game competition areas, let alone with other players, I'd love to be tutored as a complete beginner to competitive play.

I doubt the program will be a massive hit right off the bat, we'd have to start small. Say 5 tutors (DA, wolf, karp, Anti, Vance) and 5 tutees and have the program run for a duration of time. Then move into another phase and increase the amount of tutors/tutees.

Yeah...about that....lol. :/

Despite what others say about it not able to sustain long enough, I wholeheartedly agree that a tutor program would indeed be very useful in order to get more people interested in competitive battling. The way I see things, all tutees wouldn't have to be on the server simultaneously in order to be tutored. A specific one tutor to a specific one tutee ratio is not entirely necessary. Whenever they come on, they can approach any tutor that happens to be on (or wait until they do), and the tutor can then give them tips and strategies regarding whatever they would want to learn about battling. This way, they can learn at their own time and pace without hindering other users. My two cents.

I was scanning through the thread and was about to say that it shouldn't be limited, but Autumn Reverie pretty much nailed everything I was about to suggest.

If it were more open ground, it would be much easier to manage. It should be "log in, catch whichever tutor is online, and ask them" rather than assigning tutors to tutees. From experience, I've found that people who are really interested in getting into competitive battles can have a lot of questions to ask, and will ask as they progress into their comfort zone. It's case by case, though.

Definitely looking forward to this! I don't recall ever being tutored before, well, I kind of...uh...just imitated people years ago to learn competitive play, haha (that sucked). Seeing this, I'd like to start from scratch.
That came out of nowhere.
