How can you time travel to the present?

Until the mechanics of time-traveling have been perfected to the point that it wouldn't cause any unwanted rips in the continuum, I'm not taking my chance.
However, I would do what Hiidoran would do if I ever time-traveled. Given that I have never met present myself in the past, I'm thinking that time travel won't ever exist. or at least I will never choose to do it in the future. Think about it.

If I were to time travel, I'd travel to the past in my own lifetime. That is, anywhere between May, 1992 and... yesterday. There are a lot of things in my life that I once had that are no longer with me and I'd like to spend more time with them, like my mom, my grandmother, my grandfather, the time where I had a complete and happy family and stable extended family, and everything else. That's all I'd probably wish to have, to be honest. Then I'd be content and just... stay there and change the things that happened that took them away because I'd know it was coming before they did.

Really makes me wonder, actually, if time traveling actually is created (though, highly unlikely) sometime in the future. Its very possible if that's the case that people living with us today could very well be from the future.

Einstein was clearly from the future.

I'm sure I'd like to, but I wouldn't change anything that happened to me. I'm satisfied with how my life has turned out and the person I am.

Actually, I would change one thing. I wouldn't have gotten on the flight two days ago where $500 worth of stuff was stolen. :|

Well, if I travelled back in the Tardis... I could speak fluent Latin and Ancient Greek as opposed to basic stuff. I'd absolutely love to go back in time to Ancient Greece or Italy... Of course, I'd have to hide the fact that I'm a Christian, which is pretty sad, but I'd love to spend some time there. I'll take the future as it comes. The past is the place for me. I want to be a Classical Archaeologist, so what's better than going back to the Classical Times?
I wouldn't want it to be permanent; I'd probably die there if I stayed too long, but long enough to get a feel for the place. Going to places like Pompeii and Herculaneum can only tell a person so much about the past. If I actually went to those places... It would be magical.

Of course, messing with time is baaad, so I wouldn't stay very long because of that, too... Plus I'd be scared of dying in the past, which would just be extremely weird.

I'd love to time travel, but time traveling to the past could be some risky business. The simplest thing you could do could change everything about the world. Not to mention it's dangerous, full of diseases (or you could give diseases to other who haven't domesticated animals and gotten such diseases yet- which would make some contintent have epidemics, and then world history could be altered forever), and people could potentially think you were using witch craft and kill you. Not to mention, there are a lot of people who would just kill you anyways, like the cannibals of New Guinea. :D However, the prospect of becoming a God in said cultures would be neat, or taking an artifact from the time and selling it presently for millions of dollars.

But, yeah, I'd probably go to the future, see what my life was like and how I could potentially change it to be better off, and then take some invention from the future, copyright it, and make a lot of money. \o/

I wouldn't really like to time travel, but I would like to observe both the past and the future. That way, nothing in the space-time continuum is disrupted.

I think seeing myself in 11 years would be awesome, as well as the advance in technology that came with the passing of the time. Looking back to the Eighties would also be something of a delight for me, as that was my favorite era for the personal computer. I would love to see my Tandy 1000 LX in a state of being brand new.

In all actuality, though, time travel exists. Not at the speed of which everyone thinks, but it does. As time moves forward, we are constantly entering the future. The very near future, of course, but the future none-the-less. So, we are constantly time traveling. The idea of the present is only that, an idea, because time keeps flowing forward. So all of you will see what the future holds. You just won't get to the time that you would probably like.

I'd travel to the past but only to see my past as I'd like to remember it and no it wouldn't be permanent
