theoretically if I had an ex, I'd have blocked communication with her a long time, ago, so if she texted me that she missed me, I'd just block her number.

i'd at the very least be civil about it. if she misses me, so what? it's not a problem for me and if she wants to talk to me then that's absolutely fine. we don't hate each other. if she started suggesting we get back together again or whatever then that'd obviously be a no but "i miss you" is pretty harmless

It depends on their reason for contacting me. If it's just a general chat, I'd be content to talk to them. If they are trying to instigate a fight or something, I'd probably fall victim to it.
