At the shop where they sell individual cards nearby, I was looking through the cards and I saw a Secret Rare Injection Fairy Lily! Although I really want it, I reckon its a bit too pricey. They're selling it for $AUS45. :(
I've checked some internet sources and they all give the price for it at around $US17 to $US30.

Because it's not a First Edition, I reckon the card should be at least $5 lower.

I'm just wondering if I should get it. What are your opinions?

Well now, Lily in itself is a very useful card because it's searchable by Rat, Last Will, and Sangan but can still amount to a whopping 3400 Atk, making it very powerful pest control against larger monsters. So yes, it's certainly a worthwhile card to get, but for that price? Meh, depends on personal preference, I guess. If you're into the kind of LP-risking strategies that it involves and think you'll end up actually using it then yes, go for it. If odds are that it's just going to be gathering dust in some folder then don't bother. xP

    Check eBay. That's my suggestion.

Or your local Wal-Mart (or equivalent). One guy I used to know had about five of them at one time because they were given out with a package of card sleeves o.o

I actually am the kind of player who doesn't mind trading life points for something worthwhile. I'm pretty sure I would use it if I got it.

My mum doesn't allow me to order online. :P

We don't have a Wal-Mart or any equivalent stores in Australia that sell single cards as far as I know.

Oh nobody ever thinks that LP is important as long as you got a few specks of it, if trading LP can win you games. Afterall, burn is back to an all time low after Chain Strike forced 3 Des Wombat in every sidedeck. The worse you get is a rogue ceasefire as anti-gadget finishing touch.

Lily is not splashable however, so do be aware of that... if you can buy say, a morphing jar at the same price, then obviously pick the jar for its flexibility into many, many decks.

...That's sad...but it wasn't a single card--it was a variant card with another package (in his case, a bunch of card sleeves for about $5 US). Do you have any stores around that have something like that, most likely showing the back of the card but not letting you see the front?

Nope. That would be an awesome deal though. :\
Just be warned that the injection fairy has an apparent ATK of only 1400, when you are including her into your deck.

    Erm... Why? Isn't it 400?

    just a typo, he means 400 ^^;

Eh, there's sorta a lot of chainable traps to stop Lily at the moment though, which can suck quite a bit... especially enemy controller. However, not saying that she's even close to useless. Let' just say, she isn't splashable. Leave her in the earth/magician deck.

    cyberking

I would wait until the March Ban List comes out before you decide to get it.

Forgot to quote this earlier. XD

I actually got a Morphing Jar without knowing how much it's worth from DB2. >_<

It wasn't a typo. I did mean 1400. YGO not exposed to the idea of suicide cards yet or something? Lily is a perfect example of what a suicide card is. In a theoreticaly standpoint, her attack power is 1400. That is, when you pump her, you are paying 2000 for a net total of 3400 attack. Subtract them, and you get 1400. When you are hitting your opponent with a fairy, you are accelerating both life clocks in this exact manner, and therefore her attack power, in theory, is only 1400, provided that you pump.

If you don't pump, she's not even worth considering.

But the thing is, if you pump, her 3400 raw attack power is enough to take down any threats. If you attack a Jinzo, let's say, You can only deal 1000 LP at the cost of your 2000 LP, yet everyone knows that it's a excellet bargain as long as you got the 2000 LP to pay. It works on paper to a limited extent to classify it as 1400, but it just doesn't work that way in practice due to all the non-LP related gain, such as translating LP advantage into card advantage.

1400 attack power is only true if Lily is getting a direct shot, and usually that doesn't happen all that much. It's more used to either stand there so the Cyber Dragon has to hesistate rather the -1 field/card advantage together with 1300 is worth forcing Lily to use 2000 LP. Lily is more mind game related card, much similar to Wave Motion Cannon (sadly useless at the moment... I blame the gadgets and chain strike for making Mobius and Des Wombat in every single darn sidedeck.)

Same here. You shouldn't buy it, because that sounds like alot to pay for one card, Injection Fairy Lily.... I'm sure you can find it sold cheaper somewhere else ^.^ Good luck! ^^

It doesn't change the fact that Lily is a suicide card. Lily by itself is not a CA machine no matter how hard you look at it. And to say it's a mind game card, that's not it either. Why? Simply because we know the exact outcome of each action taken. If I have a dragon and you have a Lily, the course of action is obviously that if I attack, you will pump to gain 1CA, because the difference of 300LP is too small to matter in the game. There IS no second choice when it comes to that play, given your situation. And even in that situation, its role is served as a staller, in which the Lily player has the pilot's seat to finish the standstill. The situation here weakens over time, as well (I blame Yu Gi Oh's free mechanics for everything), meaning that if YOU don't break the still in 1 or 2 turns, they will.
