1st Gen You could fish in the gym statues

In generation I, for whatever reason, you could use your fishing rod in gym statues. It's a tiny oversight in the brokenness that is generation I. Have you ever attempted this small glitch? I've wanted to try it, tbh.

This is the first i've heard of it. What can you catch in these statues huh? Is it even worth it?
