    Your dream house.

I'm sure some of you envisage your own personal dream house. So, what would you like your dream house to look like? Will it contain a swimming pool, a large garden, an underground arcade, an inside bar, and stuff like that? Describe it.

I know it's a fairly uninteresting topic, but this is my first OVP thread, so yeah.

Well i don't really dig the whole huge house with 20+ bathrooms in it, i want a small house that has enough space for me and my family and no more. The only thing i'd really want is a house that is in a square shape x] i know that sounds kinda funny but i want a house with a big hallway that leads to loads of different rooms and a kitchen in the middle of it all so that the smell of whatever is cooking can drift through the entire house x]
And i guess the icing on the top would be for me to have my own study, i'd give anything to have a house that has a study thats tucked away up in the attic or behind a door that blends in with the wall x]

As someone who loves interior and architectural design, I love this topic :)

I know I always complain about where I live because it's nothing but cornfields, but after i'm done living in apartments in the city, i'd like to move back to the suburbs....just somewhere with less corn ;x Preferably somewhere near the mountains or a lake so there's something scenic around me.

I don't need a huge fancy house, but a 2 story + basement suits me fine (like now) I'd like a kitchen with an island and hard floors and wooden looking walls. I'd also love to have my reading room/work room with a huge window so I have natural light as opposed to having to waste electricity all day. Aaaand even though I said I don't need big, fancy house, that doesn't mean I don't want a big fancy master bathroom :'D As for the actual design, I like hard floors (some carpeting in living rooms is fine), mint-like green colored walls (or green tea...it's hard to explain but a calm green that's not too bright or dark), beige walls, light and dark brown walls, and comfy, big furniture. I'd put in a bunch of plants and paintings too.

a big yard + a pool and a garden would be a plus.

Log house by a freshwater lake high in the mountains, away from civilisation. Gathering firewood for warmth and hunting/fishing for food, a simple way of life we've lost in the last few centuries. I'd still like an Internet connection though so I'd have to work out some way of getting money regardles; being a ranger would suit me.

I don't think it's a terribly unreasonable ideal to aim for, just a matter of self-sufficiency.

A villa with a garden someplace quiet. That's all I need. Pretty modest, huh.

I've always wanted to live in what I describe as 'a cute little house that a theoretical husband and I will decorate with our art' and nothing really more specific than that for most of my life. I don't really think about architecture or things like that much. However, there is a very special man I met a couple of years ago, and since then have had very specific visions of a house:

The house is one story and has a light gray ledgestone facade. Facing the house, to the left is the garage and to the right is a small garden, accessible from the backyard. In the garden are little stone dragon statues amongst the plants and a path down the middle. The backyard itself is smallish, and has a porch, a big tree on the right, and the ground slopes down some in the back left corner. In the front, a stone pathway leads from the driveway to the somewhat hidden front porch. There are bushes lining the whole front of the house.

Inside the house (and I'm not certain of the exact layout of the rooms and haven't seen some of them) there is a hallway that leads from the front door to the great room, which is connected to a somewhat open kitchen. The kitchen has tile floor and painted walls with a tiled backsplash. Both the hallway and the great room have wood floor and wood paneled walls, and from the great room one can access the back porch. A lot of sunlight comes into the great room in the afternoon. Maybe there's a skylight.

The other rooms I have seen are the master bedroom, which has wood floor and deep red painted walls, the nursery which is kind of part of the master bedroom, but the walls are a lighter color like a soft blue or yellow. It might have carpet. There is a studio room with off-white walls somewhere, perhaps across the hall from the bedroom. I haven't seen the bathrooms or other possible bedroom.

Penthouse apartment would be the best thing ever, living-wise. Modern decor, but nothing too sterile or liable to date quickly. Open plan kitchen and living room with views of whichever city I'm living in (London/New York/Tokyo/whatever...) Two bedrooms and bathrooms. As for any 'extras', a swimming pool/gym I imagine would be nice; maybe a screening room for films (although if I'm living in a penthouse, I can't imagine the ceiling to be high enough, to be honest!) Nothing else really; this about sums it up!

i wouldn't mind a small, cozy apartment on the top floor with a private balcony with plenty of room for plants. the presence of others is comforting, as long as i don't have to associate with them

Nothing too fancy, except for having well-furnished rooms, a decently sized front yard and a basketball court.

A big, but not large house with a garden near the quiet shore and a big pine forest.

for me its more the exterior of the house rather than the interior. what i mean by that is that i'd love nothing more than to live in a house far away from light pollution and a clear view of the stars. Plenty of grass - bacteria in soil release seratonin, which heightens mood. Windy because ... i need wind.

However, i'd like my roof to be something like a courtyard-sorta thing.

For me, living in the house that I'm currently in, but I'd relocate it to the Serengeti, Okavango or the Amazon rain forest. Then I'd be content.

My dream house is a house big enough that I'd have my own space to myself, a pool in the backyard whenever I'd feel like using it, and that would suffice for me.

What? I'm quite the boring person, what can I say? I'm kinda claustrophobic, so I need a lot of space so I don't feel restricted or cramped in any way whatsoever. Just a large house with a lot of space and a pool.

I'm sure that isn't too much to ask. :(

I'd have to have a big, scary, black, castle of doom. Have this massive hall for YUUUUGIIIIIOOHHHHHH!!! As well as other video games and stuff. I'd have a throne room too, so I can sit there and be worshipped. I'd also have to have an epic dojo so I can continue my martial arts training. I'd have loads of other awesome stuff as well, which I can't think of at the moment!

My dream house needs a library à la Disney's Beauty and the Beast, secret passages, a hedge maze, a gigantic workroom, an even more gigantic kitchen, and an astronomy tower. It needs lots of color, every room painted in different shades, warmer colors for living spaces and cooler colors for working spaces. Lots of windows all over the place, some little round stained-glass windows along staircases and large bay windows elsewhere. I'd kind of want it to be a little mismatched and irregular, with stairs that lead nowhere and a door that opens to a tiny room only big enough for a chair, just for the fun of it. And I want a moat. And a dungeon. And dragons. And and and and

It would be located in a nice suburban area, with a garage that could fit at least five large vehicles for my up and coming car collection. My living room would be massive and feature huge plush velvet seating as well as a state of the art entertainment system. I'll only need one (really huge) bedroom with one of those fancy canopy beds. (Guests can choose any number of nearby hotels when they visit me.) My kitchen would have all stainless steel appliances. Lots of dark wood furniture, and granite flooring wherever carpeting wouldn't be feasible.

I'd also have a fairly large office with multiple computers set up, as well as a reading library/study. A laboratory would also be awesome but I'm not sure whether it would be needed xD The place would have central air and heat, a high tech security system and PA system.

Lawn would be a mix of asphalt, concrete, and Astroturf because lawn maintenance doesn't appeal to me. Twin statues of Leaf from FR/LG would grace either side of the main entrance, with numerous pictures of cute anime girls spread out through the complex.

As long as I am far away from my mother and father then I am good. But anyways....

A Large house and Gothic like designing inside and outside the house

    :t354:TG

My dream home would be a 2 or 3 story log house. In Colorado and up in the Rockies. With 3 bedrooms 3 bathrooms. Wood and tile floors. With a basketball court :D
