  • My biggest wish for future Gyms is for there to be a lot of variety in them. Things like the differing first and final Gym Leaders in Unova were a nice change, and I'd certainly appreciate more stuff like that. And I never even realised that there'd never been a Dark-type Gym Leader as of yet, so that's also a must for future generations. Apart from that, I'm not too fussed. It'd be nice to see some of the more traditionally 'later' Gyms be at the beginning (Psychic, Dragon, Steel etc) and the earlier ones pushed to the end (a final Bug Gym Leader would be amazing, given that Bug Pokemon become truly awesome when fully evolved).

i want a fire and water dual type pokemon for the 1st gym thats all

As neat as that would be, it wouldn't be fair to the people who chose the Fire-type starter, because they would have a total disadvantage. If dual-type gyms were to ever happen, that combination would probably best be left for a later gym.

As for me, as long as there's a Dark-type gym in gen 6 I will be content.

    Gym #3-Fighting
    Gym #4-Ice
    Gym #5-Water
    Gym #6-Electric
    Gym #7-Ground
    Gym #8-Dark

The Elite Four and Champion would have mixed types.

  • Why do Gym Leaders have to have a type speciality?
I know it's become expected of them now after 5 generations but why not try something new and more exciting? Couldn't hurt.

Let's give them strategic speciality, for example one gym leader could have a Sandstorm team instead of a Rock, Ground or Steel team.
Another could have a Magnet Rise team giving them access to Magnemite, Beldum, Nosepass etc.
And then you could have the really annoying substitute gym.

I'd prefer to have to plan out my strategy to counter every single gym leader, only makes for a better trainer.

I'd want Dark. There's never been one.
But i'd like something with isn't type specific.
    But more stat specific.
    Like Speed/Special.ATK/Special.DEF/Attack/Defence yadda yadda
Also, more all round ones, like Blue's Gym ?

  • I'd like to see the return of a double-battle gym in the future. Going with the name puns based on type, it'd be cool to see a father and son tandem running a Fire-type Gym, being named Mat and Chaz.

Don't really know what other types of Gyms I'd like to see, but it would be nice to finally see a Dark-type Gym Leader for Gen VI.

  • I guess something like;

    Gym 1 - Ghost
    Gym 2 - Fighting
    Gym 3 - Ground
    Gym 4 - Normal
    Gym 5 - Dragon
    Gym 6 - Dark
    Gym 7 - Psychic
    Gym 8 - Mixed types

Not having to face the basic types of Fire, Water, Grass and Electric would be nice. n_n

  • Or my previous fake badges..
    Your Gen VI Gym Wishlist

    1. Ground (has similar weaknesses to the top first gym type, Rock. And its only been in 2 of 5 generations, both in later half)
    2. Ice (if we saw cold areas sooner than ever before, enough of this 7th gym business)
    3. Grass (like Ground, a pretty basic common type that oddly didnt appear many times for gyms yet)
    4. Poison (same.)
    5. Dragon (not being a very late gym type for a change would be refreshing)
    6. Bug (again only 2 uses, both early. A more serious spot like this perhaps?)
    7. Fire (again as with Grass, how comes such an obvious elemental type was used for only 2 gyms out of 5 chances is beyond me.)
    8. Dark (no comment needed)

I understand that they don't necessarily focus on covering all types equally well, but really, they need to stop making Electric and Water over and over and at least use the very obvious very elemental Fire and Grass as much, I thought.

Of course its all related to how the region is set up and what the path is too, but I really hope we don't ever see Rock as the first gym again.
It's unfair for it to be featured as the first every single time it makes it on the list.

And wow, have they forgotten about Dark? Surely someone pointed it out at gamefreak by now. Every type has at least 2 uses now, Dark still none (Poison only had 1 until Roxie in BW2 recently).
Well beside its 3 uses for the E4 which probably affected this, which brings me to the next point.

E4, seems to be using the more rare and special late types.
Well, Sinnoh shaked it up a bit by using much more casual types for a change, alright, but besides that, its mostly, Ghost, Psychic, Dragon, Dark etc. (except for Steel for some reason...)

Id love to see them come up with something new for the E4 tha makes it more advanced by default, so they dont have to resort to the special types and cover those better through gyms.

I mean how about a good Rock trainer in the E4? And I would expect at least one Steel trainer by now.. (Steven had several, but that's not good enough...)
