Normally I will bite my tongue and not comment when someone posts their team and don't ask for suggestions (see the few posts before yours), but I cannot let this one go without saying something.
my team is

blastoise LV100
- Surf
- Earthquake
- Ice Beam
- Rest

You have seriously limited the effectiveness of an otherwise strong Poke. You should never put two attacking moves of the same type on a Poke, let alone four. What can this Blastoise do against a Grass-type? Either switch out or die. What about an Electric-type? Same thing. But, by giving it better moves, you make Blastoise a Poke to be reckoned with. While it isn't as good Swampert (not many Pokes are), it can still make quick work of its weaknesses with the addition of a few moves.

mewtwoLV100
pshycic
shadodow ball
thunder
fire blast

Having an in-game Lv100 Mewtwo is lol since you really don't need anything else. This thing is cheap and becomes more of a crutch than a help. I would suggest you go with Alakazam. It at least balances your team out a little bit more.

charizardLV100
- Flamethower
- Swords Dance/Belly Drum
- Aerial Ace/Earthquake
- Rock Slide/Aerial Ace

Fire-types aren't that strong to begin with, but hampering it with four Fire-moves makes it even worse. Charizard's special movepool isn't that great, but it has multiple options physically. With its speed, it can do some good damage to most Pokes.

venusaurLV100
- Leech Seed
- Sleep Powder
- Sludge Bomb
- Synthesis

Ugh. Avoid crappy two-turn moves like Solarbeam and the dreaded Frenzy Plant. You can actually do more damage attacking twice with a move that only takes one turn than you can with a bit more powerful attack that you can only attack once in two turns. Venusaur isn't much of an attacker anyway. It is best used as a tank.

zapdosLV100
- Thunderbolt
- Rest
- Drill Peck
- Sleep Talk

At least you have one move of a different type. Zapdos is a great Stalker (Rest + Sleep Talk). Put it to sleep to heal it/cure statuses and then you can keep attacking.

kabutops
- Endure
- Flail
- Rock Slide
- Swords Dance

Kabutops is a bad choice for a special attacker. Its base SAtk is a mediocre 65, while its base Atk is a strong 115. Unfortunately, its physical movepool, like Charizard, sucks. Its best option is to Flial. Use Swords Dance to sharply increase its Atk, Endure to drop its HP down to 1, and then Flail to do incredible amounts of damage (200 AP at 1 HP). A STAB Rock Slide is nice to have too.

some extra are :
suicune
snorlax
pidgeot
moltres
articuno
Snorlax and maybe Suicune (which isn't an overpowered Poke like Mewtwo, but is still a bit cheap) are the only good extras here.

I've recently started over my Emerald game, looking to improvemy trainer skills (after discovering things like EV, and the benefitsof breeding),so this is my team (yeah, it's the same team as my Sapphire... because I like it! lol).

But I'd be grateful if anyone could give me some advice on movesets, and all that jazz:

Swampert,38 @ Mystic Water
Lonely Nature (+Att, -Def)
Moves: Take Down, Surf, Blizzard, Earthquake (planned)

Claydol, 38 @ Soft Sand
Lax Nature (+Def, - Sp Def)
Moves: Psychic, Hyper Beam, Earthquake (planned), ???

Kadabra, 38 (soon to be Alakazam), 38 @ Twisted Spoon
Mild Nature (+Sp Att, - Def)
Moves: Psychic, Future Sight/Calm Mind, Ice Punch (planned), Fire Punch (planned)

Magneton, 38 @ ??? (Magnet, if I can get a hold of it)
Naughty Nature (+Att, - Sp Def)
Moves: Thunderbolt, Secret Power, Lock-On, Zap Cannon (planned)

Vileplume, 38 @ Miracle Seed
Jolly Nature (+Speed, -Sp Att)
Moves: Petal Dance, Sunny Day, Solar Beam, Toxic

Tropius, 38 @ ???
Impish Nature (+Def, -Sp Att)
Moves: Arial Ace/Fly, Magical Leaf, Sunny Day (planned), Synthesis (planned)

I've gotten criticism from some friends about using a Tropius, but unless he's up against a good ice pokemon, my guy is a surpringly tough defense tank. His Special Attack isn't too shabby either. Plus he looks like a big dinosaur. That's a plus. :-)

My trump card is probably Kadabra/Alakazam... when I got to the volcano ash place, I EV trained my behind off (with Pokerus and Macho Brace), and maxed out his Special Attack as much as I could. I haven't seen anyone of the same level take more than two hits from this guy before being totally destroyed; and that was with a Psybeam. When I get a Ditto from LG/FR, I plan to breed an Abra with a good Nature, and completely max out his Special Attack, just to see how high I can get it up. Maybe up to 500, 575 by Level 100? I got him up to 350 by 100 on my old Sapphire game, being completely oblivious to EVs... so who knows??

Fixes in bold:
I've recently started over my Emerald game, looking to improvemy trainer skills (after discovering things like EV, and the benefitsof breeding),so this is my team (yeah, it's the same team as my Sapphire... because I like it! lol).

But I'd be grateful if anyone could give me some advice on movesets, and all that jazz:

Swampert,38 @ Leftovers/Chesto Berry
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)

Moves:
- Rest
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Earthquake (planned)

Don't waste Normal moves on non-Normal Pokes. Also, its nature goes against one of its strengths, you want to +Def, not -Def. Relaxed is standard. Rest is a great option for Swampert since it can tank even more and Ice Beam >>>> Blizzard. Also, don't use those held items that only increase one type of move by 10%. Completely useless. Use Leftovers or even a Chesto Berry to get a free Rest.

Claydol, 38 @ Leftovers
Lax Nature (+Def, - Sp Def)
Moves:
- Ice Beam
- Light Screen/Reflect
- Rest/Explosion

- Earthquake (planned),

Avoid using crappy two-turn moves like Hyper Beam. You can actually do more damage attacking twice with Earthquake than you can with one Hyper Beam attack that takes two turns. Claydol is a great pseudo-passer, being able to pass either Light Screen or Reflect. Rest lets it tank better while Explosion allows it to take out threats.

Kadabra, 38 (soon to be Alakazam), 38 @ Lum Berry/Shell Bell/Leftovers
Modest Nature (+Sp Atk, - Atk)

Moves:
- Psychic
- Calm Mind
- Ice Punch (planned)
- Fire Punch (planned)

Very good moveset. Modest >>> Mild.

Magneton, 38 @ Leftovers/Shell Bell
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

Moves:
- Thunderbolt
- Thunder Wave
- Toxic
- Substitute

A few no-nos here. First, don't bother with Magnet. Next, don't use +Atk nature on a Poke that shouldn't be using physical attacks. Next, never use crappy two-turn combos like Lock-On/Zap Cannon. They are as bad as other two-turn moves. Since Magneton's movepool is severely limited in-game, Toxic and Substitute are your best options. Secret Power is simply lol.

Vileplume, 38 @ Leftovers/Lum Berry
Mild Nature (+SAtk, -Def)/Modest (+SAtk, -Atk)

Moves:
- Sunny Day
- Solarbeam
- Sleep Powder
- Sludge Bomb/Moonlight

Vileplume is an underrated utility Poke. One of only a few good SunnyBeamers. I still prefer Aromaplume, but that is more effective in competitive play than in-game. Sleep Powder is a great disabling move and Sludge Bomb/Moonlight is your choice. I prefer the former but the latter is quite helpful. The nature depends on that last slot.

Tropius is a great HM slave, but a mediocre battler. Since you already have a Grass-type in the better Vileplume, this one just gives your team a huge liability. Not only do you have to worry about Ice-types, but also a ton of other types that know how to use Ice Beam. Being 4x weak to Ice on a crappy Poke to begin with isn't good. Salamence or Dragonite or Flygon outclass Tropius in every single way. Or you could avoid the 4x Ice weak altogether and go with physical attacker like Heracross or Tyranitar or Tauros.

Not too bad of a team, but I would change one of the special sweeper for a special tank. Or you could even switch Swampert for Milotic.

Thanks for the advice! Natures are kind of iffy to me, because there's so many of them. And it's not simple to hatch 50 Mudkips just to get a desired nature, so in that case I think I'll just bite my tongue. Vileuplume I EV trained with Spindas, so I could kind of override the whole minus Special Attack thing with a Jolly Nature.

I am going to get rid of my buddy Tropius, but I've always disliked Dragon Pokemon. And I've held a grudge against all Flygons ever since my one friend trained one JUST to battle me; pretty much just as a fail-safe against my Magneton, because he kept on tanking him. If it weren't for Flygon, I would have won. *shakes fist*.

However, I think I'll replace him with a Beldum/Metagross.
Only problem is, that guy is a beat to train up.

well, thanks for all that master talk, but you can save your trash for someone else
those limited pokemon as you call them are stronger than you think and have never lost a battle(as a party)
please, i know how to raice my pokemon and i don't need your smart comments

thanks but i don't need them ^_^

I'd like some help with my FireRed Team please:

-Wing Attack

Zapdos@Leftovers
Quirky Nature

-Thunderbolt
-Drill Peck

-Rest

Moltres@Charcol

-Flamethrower
-Fire Spin
-Fly
-Fire Blast

I want a good tank 6th Pokemon, I'm open to suggestions!

And the fact that they have never lost a battle against the crappy in-game AI proves what? Even a well trained Magikarp team can own in-game. ._. You wouldn't stand a chance against any decent competitive player.
I'd like some help with my FireRed Team please:

Blastoise @ Leftovers
Relaxed Nature

- Ice Beam
- Rest
- Surf
- Earthquake

Never give a Pokémon sucky two turn moves such as Hydro Cannon, Skull Bash, Hyper Beam etc. Two slightly weaker moves will do more damage in the same time and two turn moves prevent you from switching, which is not a good thing. Also remember not to give a Pokémon two attacking moves of the same type unless one of them is called Quick Attack, Extremspeed or Mach Punch as that limits your Pokémon's type coverage. Normal type moves in general should be avoided unless you have no better option or the Pokémon gets STAB from it.

Raichu @ Leftovers
Sassy Nature

- Focus Punch
- Substitute
- Thunderbolt
- Thunder Wave

If you manage to get up a Substitute without it getting broken, Focus Punch can deal a nice amount of damage. Thunderbolt is for random STAB fun and type coverage. Thunder Wave can be used to cripple sweepers by lowering their speed. Also, never use moves like Minimize and Double team as they rely purely on luck and have nothing to do with skill whatsoever.

Pidgeot@ Choice Band
Relaxed Nature

- Aerial Ace
- Steel Wing
- Return/Double-edge
- Quick Attack

Now what did I say about having two attacking moves of the same type? CB sweeping is the only thing Pidgeot is good for, and Dodrio handles that better. Your Pidgeot has a horrible nature, by the way. Relaxed reduces Speed, which is Pidgeot's most important stat. Just get yourself a Dodrio with a good nature instead:

Dodrio @ Choice Band
Adamant/Jolly nature

- Drill Peck
- Steel Wing
- Quick Attack (requires breeding iirc)
- Return/Double-edge

Zapdos@Leftovers
Quirky Nature

- Thunderbolt
- Drill Peck
- Sleep Talk
- Rest

That's the best thing you can do for Zapdos without a good Hidden Power which is almost impossible to get in-game. Light Screen is also an option over Sleep Talk, but I strongly reccomend Sleep Talk.

Moltres @ Leftovers
Calm Nature

- Flamethrower
- Toxic
- Substitute
- Fire Spin/Filler

The attacking moves of the same type strike again! o.o Moltres can't do much without its XD moves. This is the best I can come up with for it. Fire Spin can be used for trapping, allowing Toxic to kick in, but is pretty useless in general. Moltres', movepool, however, is limited, so I can't suggest anything better for it. I suggest you ditch this for something else. I don't know what, though.

I want a good tank 6th Pokemon, I'm open to suggestions!
I hope that helped. And because my line-ups usually end up failing competitively (so far I have manged to put together a whooping one working OU team), I'm not going to suggest anything for the last Pokémon. However, a special wall could be quite nice for your team.

I started a new game on Ruby yesterday and named myself Greevil for fun. o.o I'm going to use an UU/NU team and so far I have:

Wingull ** XD 001
Lax nature (I was too lazy to search for one with a better nature, but this is purely in-game so it doesn't really matter that much.)
Ability: Keen Eye

- Water Gun (going to be replaced with Surf)
- Growl (replacing with Ice Beam)
- Supersonic (replacing with Shock Wave)
- Wing Attack (replacing with Agility)

Mawile ** XD 002
Sassy nature (meh... I couldn't bother searching for another Mawile)
Ability: Intimidate

- Astonish (replacing with Sludge Bomb)
- Fake Tears (replacing with Iron Defense)
- Bite (replacing with Baton Pass)
- empty slot (going to put Ice Beam or something similar in that slot because my Mawile happens to have nearly perfect Sp.Atk DVs, and Ice Beam can pwn Ground types.)

My final team is going to be:

Pelipper @ Leftovers ** XD 001
Lax nature
Ability: Keen Eye

- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Shock Wave
- Agility

Mawile @ Leftovers ** XD 002
Sassy nature
Ability: Intimidate

- Sludge Bomb
- Ice Beam
- Iron Defense
- Baton Pass

Camerupt @ Choice Band XD 003
Brave nature
Ability: Magma Armor

- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Overheat/Fire Blast
- Explosion

Xatu @ Leftovers ** XD 004
Bold nature
Ability: Synchronize

- Psychic
- Giga Drain/Night Shade
- Reflect
- Wish

Banette @ Leftovers ** XD 005
Bold nature
Ability: Insomnia

- Will-O-Wisp
- Snatch (going to use this thing on the Frontier on Emerald.)
- Thunderbolt
- Knock Off (for Frontier use once again.)

Glalie @ Leftovers ** XD 006
Bold nature
Ability: Inner Focus

- Ice Beam
- Spikes
- Explosion
- Light Screen

Now if only I had Pokémon XD so I could get Baton Pass for Xatu. I want to use a Baton Pass Xatu. <.< And yes, I know this team sucks, but it's for fun. =P Suggestions are welcome.

LOL That is why I prefaced my previous post by saying I normally bite my tongue. I do that because most posts here are by trainers who aren't experienced enough to understand how to battle effectively. They typically fill their team with high level Pokes (including Legendaries) and then believe that since they can easily defeat the weak AI (which have much lower leveled Pokes, not including the fact that the AI was made so that a six-year old can beat it), their team must be good. I don't doubt that you haven't lost a battle, especially considering the fact that you have Lv100 Pokes and in-game the highest level Poke you can battle is Lv75. That doesn't mean that your team cannot be improved though.

Since you didn't ask for suggestions, I do apologize for my previous post. Just understand that if you ever battle against someone else, who actually knows how to battle effectively, you will quickly understand what I was talking about.

This is my current-in-my-pocket-right-now team that i just beat winona with (started the game over about a month ago) in emerald

I've recently generated my dream Steel team on Emerald. (actually, it's the same as Steven's... but perhaps a bit better):

(All listed are planned, I have yet to train them up)

1.) Skarmory
Nature: Impish
Moves: Fly/Arial Ace, Spikes, Whirlwind, Substitute/Rest

2.) Claydol (gotta have my buddy Claydol on every team of mine! lol)
Nature: Relaxed
Moves: Earthquake, Psychic/Ice Beam, Explosion, Rapid Spin (maybe)

3.) Cradily
Nature: Modest
Moves: Toxic, Sunny Day, Solar Beam, Earthquake

4.) Armaldo
Nature: Adamant
Moves: Earthquake, Rock Blast, Sword Dance, ???

5.) Aggron
Nature: Jolly
Moves: Earthquake, Iron Tail, Double Edge/Surf, Rock Slide

6.) Metagross
Nature: Adamant
Moves: Earthquake, Meteor Mash, Agility, Psychic

Any suggestions or criticisms are welcomed!

I've recently generated my dream Steel team on Emerald. (actually, it's the same as Steven's... but perhaps a bit better):

(All listed are planned, I have yet to train them up)

1.) Skarmory
Nature: Impish
Moves: Fly/Arial Ace, Spikes, Whirlwind, Substitute/Rest
- Rest/Aerial Ace
- Spikes
- Substitute
- Whirlwind

Skarmory works best with both Sub and Rest. Since this is in-game, you should probably start off with AA (NEVER Fly) and then switch to Rest once it is properly trained. In all honesty, in-game Skarmory isn't nearly as effective as it is competitively. Still a GREAT physical wall though.

2.) Claydol (gotta have my buddy Claydol on every team of mine! lol)
Nature: Relaxed
Moves: Earthquake, Psychic/Ice Beam, Explosion, Rapid Spin (maybe)
- Earthquake
- Explosion
- Ice Beam
- Rest/Light Screen/Reflect/Psychic

Pssssssst. Claydol isn't Steel. LOL IB is a MUST since Dragons can switch in on this team (i.e. Salamence), laugh, and then sweep this entire team with no trouble whatsoever. The last slot is up to you. Rest allows it to last longer, LS/Reflect allows you to pseudo pass to your teammates, and Psychic is STAB. In-game teams don't need Rapid Spin.

3.) Cradily
Nature: Quiet (+SAtk, -Spd)
Moves: Toxic, Sunny Day, Solar Beam, Earthquake
- Earthquake/Rock Slide
- Giga Drain
- Recover
- Toxic

Three non-Steel Pokes make it hard to classify this as a "Steel team". SD is a HORRIBLE idea, as it buffs Fire moves, which most of your team is weak to. Using GD twice can do almost as much damage as the SD/SB combo, and you get a bonus of healing yourself too. Cradily also MUST have Recover or Rest. It is a special sponge and works terrific in that capacity, especially with EQ or a STAB Rock Slide in its arsenal. Toxic is for w/e you cannot get with GD/EQ.

4.) Armaldo
Nature: Adamant
Moves: Earthquake, Rock Blast, Sword Dance, ???
- Earthquake
- Rock Blast
- Substitute
- Swords Dance

Thinking now this would make a better SST than a Steel team. Replace Armaldo with Tyranitar. Armaldo is too situational, imo. Great attack, too many weaknesses, not enough defenses (unlike Cradily) to help.

5.) Aggron
Nature: Jolly
Moves: Earthquake, Iron Tail, Double Edge/Surf, Rock Slide
- Focus Punch
- Rock Slide
- Substitute
- Thunder Wave

This is the best Aggron moveset. Aggron makes strong Subs, and TW is great against faster Pokes. RS causes flinches and FP can damage quite a bit, with Aggron's super high Atk.

6.) Metagross
Nature: Adamant
Moves: Earthquake, Meteor Mash, Agility, Psychic
- Earthquake
- Explosion
- Meteor Mash
- Shadow Ball

CBgross > Agiligross, imo.

Any suggestions or criticisms are welcomed!
This team proves my point about mono-type teams, and this isn't even one. Salamence can come in on this team and Fire Blast this team at will, especially since it is quicker than any Poke here and resists most of their attacks. Most Water-types will have an easy time here as well, since most carry an Ice move that will make Cradily cry, especially without Recover or Rest. Magneton is surprisingly absent from this team too, as is Registeel, but I will assume you are avoiding Legis.
