Seeing as the original one got locked, lets continue the discussion.

What do you think about homework? Do you hate it? Do you like it? Do you wish it wouldn't exist?

I both like homework and hate it. If I'm writing a story with some freedom or I'm doing something on the laptop then it's pretty fun to do. I hate it when it is Maths or Art homework. :/ (Yes, I did copy and paste this from my old thread.)

I hate homework. I mean, if you pay attention to school then you don't need homework. And I do... So I don't get the point of it.

Although if it's easy than I don't care and do it anyways.

Don't like it, but sometimes it's neccesary to fully learn the subject.
How on Earth would you ever be able to comprehand Math if there wasn't homework?!

Yeah I agree with the above. I absolutely hate homework, but we wouldn't be as smart as we are now without learning things on our own.

While I understand the merits and importance of homework, I'm not very fond of it because I feel that it takes up most of my time at home. I hate getting homework on weekends.

Depends on the homework and whether or not the busywork is part of the subject. It's one thing doing something doing homework using integration by parts, but when you're doing stuff like z-transforms and the teacher gives you a really ugly integration by parts thing to do, that becomes more busywork than homework since most your time is spent on the integration and not so much the transforms

I know I'mma gonna be SUPER biased...

But I love doing any homework that's not history nor english homework. Luckily, the english homework isn't much this year, but history doesn't seem to be cooperating >__>

Well I don't really like homework because it's boring and chews up my time; however, if the homework is an assignment and I'm say, making a short film, then I love it.

But yeah, can't say I'm really a fan...

Homework is an important reinforcement tool used by schools and institutions to solidify what was taught in the classroom. Shame most of the people I know cheat at homework, and that eventually ends up making their grade drop. I don't like homework in most subjects, but it's one of those things you gotta do.

I do understand the necessity of homework, but it doesn't make me dislike it any less. I really wish more teachers would allow the choice of making homework optional. You are told what you should probably do, but you don't have to turn it in or anything; so if you fail it's your own fault for not studying or whatever.

My AP US History teacher last year had allowed us the option of going "assessment only" which had our grade pretty much only rely on tests and quizzes. We had like one or two projects we also had to do, but no homework other than that. Only like 5 people did it (including me) but I thought it was a godsend and I was surprised more didn't do it.

I don't mind reasonable amounts of homework. It's when teachers/professors go overboard and start giving huge amounts of homework or really difficult assignments that I begin to get annoyed and frustrated by it.
