I'm actually pleased about this. It seems like less of an invasion and we'll get to experience the new Pokémon for what they are (as opposed to mixing them in with previous gens and comparing). A reboot like this is a great idea.

I guess if you're particularly protective of your Bidoof... it helps... I don't know... I'm seeing it as more of a hinderance ability...

If I understand it correctly, it goes like this: If a Bidoof with the Cower Ability is hit with Slash and it results in a critical hit, the Bidoof would then return. Out of battle, it would repel Pokémon of a higher level.

Reshiram uses a natural flame which moves the atmosphere Zekrom uses a generator (rather well known for being man made). I'm still seeing an Industrial vs Natural theme, if only somewhat.

Some of those are very impractical though. It would actually make more sense to use a torch than waste a move slot. Heck, I have a Charmander following me around, why doesn't the flame on his tail work as a torch. You can't defend broken mechanics.
