There are a lot of Pokemon with incredible typing that rarely get used. Each play through I try and use Pokemon that I've never used before. I loved using Toxicroak, Crobat, and Flygon on my various playthroughs of W2 (and Flygon in X).

This is very confusing. I was battling a Croagunk with my Inkay and I used Psywave. It was NOT super effective. It did very little damage. What has caused this? Inkay is Psychic / Dark so it should get STAB, and Croagunk is Poison / Fighting so Psywave is 4x effective. It should've done 8x...

No, I don't think so. Mega evolutions only increase the stats that are already higher. They wouldn't take a Pokemon with high special attack and low attack and increase the attack. That would be a waste.
