I realize that this gives us another Fire-Fighting starter, but I think it makes sense in this case.
Fire-Fighting
Grass-Flying
Water-Rock
This way you have the same general trio, but their secondary typing would give them a counter to their original weakness. Sort of a reverse to what XY did...
If we're going by the games, I'd go with Gold.
Red may have been the original Pokemon Master, but Gold went through a longer journey and not only became a master through the league, but he beat Red who had spent years training before Gold got to him (which I assume only took a few months).
Honestly, I never really cared for the games having a deep story. For this reason, I preferred Kanto/Johto's stories best.
Yes, there was a story, but it wasn't some epic adventure. It was more about the protagonist simply trying to be the best he can be while stumbling into some gangster's...
I suppose I'll go back to Hoenn.
Tropius: Flier/Ground Transport/Strength/Food
This really would be a great utility Pokemon. It's clearly built to walk around, it's beefy, but it can fly as well, and it produces fruit which can sustain the team in emergencies.
Sharpedo: Water support
It's...
It's things like those faces on Arbok's body that would make perfect sense. Why would these Pokemon living in different forests, fields, streams, mountains, and whatever have the exact same markings?
That's a really interesting suggestion, and I suppose it makes sense. In more populated regions there also are more pokemon resembling items, if I recall. Hoenn does not have many (only Gulpin and Shuppet lines) while others seem to have many more.
I've always been curious to see what certain Pokemon would look like if they lived in different environments. Perhaps they would come across as different species of the same type (like wolves and painted dogs, for example), or having different coloration to match their environments.
I think we...
I'd want a more complex Tactics-type game than Nobunaga's ambition. Give me access to more, if not all of the pokemon with a real leveling system and movesets, and give me an actual story that revolves around more than trying to conquer all of the type-themed countries.
OR give me an open world...
Well, you'll never get a Machamp unless you trade again. That could be a pretty big determining factor, as Machamp has the greatest potential of the pure fighting types at the point of this generation. If you can trade to get Machamp, then I'd go for that.
BUT
Hitmonlee is my favorite Pokemon...
Ash has a pretty reasonable squadron of Pokemon hanging out at Oak's lab. They haven't really gotten much screen time since their respective seasons outside of a few random episodes between leagues (and the battle frontier).
I really liked finding out that Cyndaquil evolved a bit ago in one of...
In Pokemon Red I used a Master Ball on an Oddish.
I traded my Mr Mime to my cousin for a Voltorb.
I once thought Pokemon should only have moves of their own type, so I lost a battle with my very high level Haunter against a very low level Spearow.
XY gave us Hawlucha with Flying Press, effectively both a Fighting and a Flying type move. While a novel move, do you think there will be any more dual type moves in the future?
What about moves that are currently around that aren't but should become dual type?
I'm thinking Kyurem's Freeze...
