Anyway, I'll most likely end up buying the DS, since I've been buying all nintendo products since 64. I do notice not many people like Nintendo, the people I know, but it's still my favorite.

yeah, but put the DS will be a better sucess than the Gamecube...... Gamecube has gone kiddy, but I still like it..... but your all talking about Gamecube vs PS2 now..... PS2 is better than the Gamecube..... Uh...by that reasoning, the Gamecube should be top dog, because Nintendo has had more console experiance than Sony and Microsoft.
But it's just not the case. The GCN is the outcast console, so will be the NDS.

Heres the truth- nobody knows the real price or how good the DS or PSP will be.
The Price for the PSP is definetly going to be over $300 because it is almost as good as a PS2(remember PS2's price when it came out? $300 or $400, i forgot)

The price of a DS is definetly going to be over $150 because it is almost as good(or better) than a nintendo 64, plus it has two screens!

They both have FREE online capablities and they both already have an awsome line-up for games on both systems(check ebgames for the games that will be released)

So... My estimates for the prices are DS......$250-$350
PSP.....$300-$450

Also, EBgames has preorders for games @$49.99 each

For anyone that thinks the prices are over $500, That would be illegal. Yes you heard me right, there are limits on the prices of video games and video game consoles. I believe the limit for games is $70 and the limit for consoles is $500.

Recently Sony has gotten the PS2 to be classified as a Computer system for tax reasons, so the PS3 Price may be over $500

Yes I'm annoyed! YOu seem so sure of your theory, yet to me, it's just like a net! Full of holes!

1st-EB games is really not that big of a corporation, compared to Target, Best Buy, Walmart, and such. I've been to an EB games and it was like twice the size of a walk in closet! IT IS A SMALL BUSINESS! I've been to several and they're all that size! Yes, EB games has an online store, but people are more apt to go with one of the bigger corporations! EB games is NOT the best indicator of sales.

2nd-You act as if you know everything! In fact, you don't! I work for my school paper as a game reviewer, and I do student body polls! I get in with the people, and know what they like. You can represent the "adult" games, but most gamers are teens. Unless you're talking about couch-potatoe bachlores playing games for the rest of their lives! Teens like a lot of Nintendo franchises though. Pokemon is not one of them, for the most part, but Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda all are! Nintendo makes games that you can trust are good! I can't think of a Nintendo game I didn't like. Excluding games like Pokemon Channel!

There are more reasons, but I'm bored of writing to someone who really doesn't listen! Go make your own thread about who Nintendo Sux! Take your cloud of bad attitude somewhere else!

I've been to many EB games, and they are pretty small. I didn't think they were all that important, just a shop in the mall, 6_6

Nintendo is NEVER going out! It is a brand name people trust....and they make awesome hardware + first party games! Nintendo will be there, forever and always!

I will be buying the DS just because I support Nintendo XP....Actually it looks pretty cool to me...lol......

Well I can agree that PS2 is currently the most well-liked system, but from what I've seen and heard, GCN outdoes XBox by a mile! 99% of the Polls i've viewed, people i've talked to, things i've read in magazines and papers, say that XBox is the worst out of the three. And the XBox fans I DO talk to are unintelligent fanatics that dont even have a method to their madness.

But on the topic of DS and PSP, I have high hopes for the DS. I personally believe it will do very good at least within the first half of year its on the markets... for Nintendo has the best E3 lineup this year, from what I've heard. Plus, it has much more extras with it I think....

Thats why GCN only has 2 online games. WTF where they thinking!? And what are they thinkin now.

These lil Wario Party games and little kiddie crap. I'd be insulted if Nintendo asked JoWood to make a game for one of there consoles. (they'd never do that, cause JoWood makes real games. )

Like I said and I say again, Nintendo's goin down. They only ruled over Sega a long time ago. Sony's gonna dominate there company if they dont do somethin quick.

And they do not make much online games, thats true, but Iwata himself said "Customers do not want online games." thats proof enough for their reasoning. Personally I'm all for that, online play is way too overrated. If you wanna play against a friend, invite them to your house and buy another controller.

Personally I dont give a crap how popular Nintendo is compared to Sony. As long as they keep on producing games I'll keep on buying them, no matter how much they fall.

Thats precisely one of the reasons many people prefer online gaming. They don't have to buy extra accessories or host a party just so they can play with their friends. They simply sit on their butt, turn on the game & bam, they are playing a game with their friend(s) without everyone being in the same room.

The number of people who prefer online gaming is growing each day. Just look at how popular online gaming is on the PC... Would you blame developers for trying to copy the success of online PC gaming? And it's been predicted that PC gaming will eventually go the way of the dinosuar! With no PC online games, how will people get their fill of online gaming? On the consoles of course! I think thats why more & more developers are making online games for consoles, they realize that there is a place for online gaming.

Our stores are small for a purpose.
We exist the prime reason of getting people in, out, and happy with their purchase, by keeping them well informed.
How that means we're a small company, I'll never understand.
Is your IQ less than your age? Or are you really just not observent enough to know facts when they jump out and bite you on the butt?

Oh, and we sell to children and teens as much as anyone else, and more and more kids nowdays are buying PS2 and Xbox over anything with the word 'Nintendo' on it.
Nintendo makes games that "I can trust are good"? Funny.
Thats exactly why people walk past them on the shelf and onto the latest Naughty Dog game for PS2 or Xbox. Your theory makes perfect sense.

I work for a multinational specialised game retailer.
Surely even to your feeble mind, it makes sense why I know more than you.
Target is bigger, true.
But they're not a specialised gaming store, like we are. We have our finger on the pulse of the industry. They just sell games.

This is going to be an all out flame war soon! LOLAY!! This topic is so funny! Nintendo has enough money to keep going for lots more time. Their boat will not go down until THEY THEMSELVES declare bankrupcey [don't know how to spell that].

And, actually, a lot of people think that Nintendo redeemed itself with awesome gamecube games. I can guarantee that Paper Mario 2, Metroid Prime 2, Pikmin 2, and the rest of their games are going to fly off the shelves. So many people are excited about them.

Don't have to buy extra accesories????? Pfft! What happened to the fairly expensive devices that get your console online??? That's about twice the cost of an extra controller! Plus then there's the monthly cost of online gaming! It would not be considered cheaper to just buy an extra controller!

Why play movies or shows on anything. Rent the movie and watch it at home. It's a lot easier, less expensive, you see it on a bigger screen hopefully, you don't have to worry about battery life, wait until you get home to watch the movie. I mean all these shows and movies that are portable are useless cause once you see the show you can't do much. I mean you can't alter the plot by pushing buttons, so just watch it at home.

I think the DS has some great qualities, Microphone, Wireless, Two screens, both backlit like the SP I think because I saw an extra button, but it could be a wireless thing, the touch screen... or maybe a removable touchscreen type thing... who knows, and besides, it's new and different. The only thing the PSP has going for it is the fact that it has improved graphics. I mean it's like a regular Gameboy Advance otherwise. The games for it look awfully fragile aswell... thin little discs that will break if anything happens... I have been very abusive with my game boy games and there has never been much damage done, maybe a crack or two in the casing of a Super Mario Bros, but that's it.
