    Have any of you guys out there met your favourite celebrity in person before? I don't mean attending their concerts, but I mean fan appreciation events, autograph sessions etc.

    Or have any of you interacted with your favourite celebs? Like sending fan mail and gifts to them and getting a response to them, or talking to them through fan conventions or their official blogs/webpages?

    I'm curious because I am dying (okay...maybe not that exaggerated) to meet my favourite singers...

    Never seen them before, but I saw a beauty queen yesterday, Miss Venus Raj. She was nice.

    Maybe you want to elaborate more? I'm curious after all, especially when being crazy over celebs is all the rage wit my classmates now.

    No; and I wouldn't want to either. Just because I'm a fan of a particular person doesn't mean I'm going to get along with them if I meet them. I can appreciate their talents, attitude towards life, etc. and that's why they're one of my favourite celebrities, but that doesn't mean we'd be friends or anything if we ever met. To them, I'm just a nobody; and I may know about them from interviews, but I don't know them on a personal level so really I barely know them at all. It would be cool to get an autograph or something similar, but I don't want to actually speak to them; I imagine it would just be weird and awkward. I wouldn't walk up to a stranger in the street hoping for a discussion, I wouldn't expect a discussion with a famous stranger either.

    Plus, the majority of my favourite celebrities enjoy their privacy so don't meet with fans anyway.

    He wasn't my favorite at the time, and he's not now either, but I do love his music haha. When I was a sophomore in high school I went to Los Angeles and ran into Ozzy Osbourne. People were asking him for his autograph and when I went up to say hi, they (his ~people or whatever~) were tying to get him to leave the area, but he stopped and walked up to me and I got to shake his hand and say hi :'D

    of course I forgot my camera and anything to have him autograph, but I thought he was really kind to do that.

    no. Although you know, how most celebs have twitters? I have one, and was followed by him. So not really. I have took sevveral pics of me and him at the concerts, I take the front row.

    Yep, met a bunch, although most wouldn't really be called 'celebrities' outside of the metal scene. A venue here in Raleigh gets a bunch of great metal acts so you can usually catch the band hanging out with the crowd before & after their set. I guess the most well-known dude I've talked to is Paul Di'Anno, the original singer of Iron Maiden (and also a huge douchebag); I partied with Crimson Glory a few months ago in Georgia.

    But for those whose work means a serious amount to me - I won't meet them; I'll take pains to avoid learning anything about the person. That way I can enjoy the work without it being inevitably colored and devalued by my understanding of the creator.

    I've met all the members of the band La Dispute when I saw them in concert almost three weeks ago. Definitely glad to get the opportunity. It was a small gig, so there was no backstage. I saw Chad and Jordan numerous times in the crowd, and spoke to Kevin briefly, but I was nervous and couldn't think of anything to say, so it wasn't until after their set that I went up and thanked them for playing. Definitely one of the highlights of my life, though. I know they're regular people, but meeting a group who have had such an impact on my life (even though they don't know me personally) was amazing.

    Kinda. I went to Guy Sebastian's autograph signing thing once when he was my favourite singer, lol. I think that's all.

    But, my mentor for uni is the newsreader from my favourite TV channel (the one I intend to work at one day), Channel 10. So, I guess if she counts as a celebrity (she is for my state at least) and I've met other people from the media too. If that counts. :D;

    Oh, I completely forgot. I'm not a Guy Sebastian fan but I did meet him on a flight from Los Angeles to Melbourne (I was coming home from a holiday in America). He was pretty nice, I got his autograph and everything, but apart from Like It Like That and some of his motown stuff I'm not really a big fan of his music.

    Well, Nascar drivers aren't exactly celebrities but anyways, I was able to meet Jeff Gordon a year or so back.

    It was after a race and we always go to see the drivers take off at the helicopter pads. It was pouring out and so there was only a group of about 10 people waiting near the fence, watching him sit in his golf cart.

    He walked down and said hi to us all, and we got a couple of hats and tickets signed. :D He shook my hand and my little brother's hand and stuff. My brother is a huge Gordon fan and so he had tears in his eyes and stuff. ^^;

    But the best thing that I will never forget is what this little kid yelled to Gordon as he was walking away "Wait! Mr. Gordon! Can I shake your golden hand!?"

    I found it hilarious. XD Of course, he came back to shake the kids hand.

    I've also met Joey Logano and Jimmie Johnson! :D

    ... But otherwise, I've met no huge and real celebrities >< Not like I'd die to meet them or anything, though.

    This probably doesn't even count but one of my favourite celebrities (internet celebrities count T_T) is Felicia Day and she was doing autograph signings at a fandom convention here last year. I got her autograph and spoke to her and Amy Okuda (both are from The Guild) for a few minutes. She was so nice. :D

    I also touched Nobuo Uematsu (guy who did most of the Final Fantasy soundtracks) by accident at a concert once. He walked by me on his way back to his seat and bumped into me, lol. /awkward

    :( I don't really notice or pay attention to celebrities so I probably wouldn't notice if I bumped into anyone famous. And all the people I'd like to meet are more internet celebs, lol.

    Apart from ruffling Yannis Philippakis's (From the band "Foals") hair at a gig a while back, no, I've never even met a celebrity, let alone my favourite(s).

    The closest I came to meeting a celebrity was Tom Brady at a practice game. I was about 10 feet away from him and even though he's not a huge celebrity favorite of mine it was just weird being as close as I was. So technically no, I haven't met any of my favorite celebrities or really any celebrities at that.

    Also I would never send fan mail or gifts. xD I don't truly know them so why would I waste my money on a gift for them? They could be horrible people for all I know. Not to mention it's not like they're going to send me anything back or really care about what I get them. They're celebrities which means they're most likely very rich and can buy themselves anything they want. Fan mail on the other hand has always just seemed kind of creepy to me. You really don't know if they're reading it or if it's really them responding and once again I doubt they really care about how much you love them.

    I think even if I saw my favorite celebrity walking down the street I wouldn't approach them. I would feel like I would be intruding on their time/space. Plus the sheer amount of awkwardness and shyness once seeing them would repel me away to begin with. I'd just sneak a phone picture. xD

    I only have one favorite actor and I wouldn't want to meet her because it would be way too awkward. :c

    If I did though I would take a picture in a way they wouldn't notice (lol creepy) just so people would believe me when I said I met her.

    I wouldn't call him a "celebrity," per se... but I meet William Beckett and Michael Guy Chislett of The Academy Is... when I was sixteen. :) I had a massive crush on William back then, but I managed to maintain my cool when I was actually talking to him and stuff.

    I would love to meet Tegan and Sara, though, they sound like they would be so much fun to talk to.

    Nope, I saw gaga in concert though.

    Justin Bieber is rumored to make an appearance at a local shopping center here tonight also.I might go :P
