  • If you guys have access to good public transportation, PLEASE don't waste your money on a car. I'm so tired of siphoning money into mine just to get around. But alas I live in the suburbs with barely any public transportation so I'm stuck. I can't wait to live in a big city with subways, taxis and buses.

  • I couldn't function without my car. They're expensive but totally worth it not to have to deal with the inefficiency of public transport. I find train trips exhausting, I couldn't imagine using one every day lol

  • And that's why I love living in Madrid.

I only have to pay 30 euros every month and I can virtually go to any place in the city at any time. My university is 30 minutes away in bus or 15 + 10 if I take a metro-bus combo, whereas it's just 15 minutes away in car. I think the few lost minutes are totally worth it (plus I can spent that time reading since I don't have to drive!).

If any of you ever become politicians, invest on a good public transport network. It pays off.

  • I'm lucky I live only a 3 minute walk from work and the town center. But what about a hybrid or something else that's great on gas?

Then again.. I guess it is the insurance that really kills you.

  • I find cars a lot more worthwhile to be honest! Even though NY has a decent transportation system, they don't exactly give the best service in the world. XD; I've had buses be up to two hours late. Thankfully, though, they've been working on that lately so they've been coming on time more...

buut yeah I can't rely on public transportation here at all. u__u; Been learning to drive and I think that's totally worth it, especially when it's not realistic to assume I'd be living close enough to my work forever (or even working in the same convenient place most of my life). Plus having my license makes me feel more independent~ /brick'd

Tell me about it. What sucks even more are those drivers who won't stop abusing their cell phones while driving. They're one of the reasons why I refused to drive.

But since I live in a semi-barren village, I have to rely on the help of others to get me to & from work.

  • Hi, my name is donavannj, and I have over $5000 worth of car-related debt right now, almost all of it accrued in the last month and a half. Luckily, this debt is to my parents, who are far more lenient lenders than any bank ever would be.

All of it on the same car, too.

I walk everywhere I need to go XD Even if its 2-3 hours away. I get friends of family to drive me if its too far or if there is horrible weather.

  • Tbh living on the edge of suburban life a car is probably the best mode of transportation.

But yeah if you live in the city get out of that dealership you don't belong there.
