People will now debate about whether they are metal or not.

Anyway, yes for me. Anything from Scandinavia or Germany, I will probably like.
I'm not really into the American death metal that most people termed metalheads are into.

I listen to metal big time everyday.

Why? Because I put "Heroes of our Time" by DragonForce as my alarm at full blast and I don't wake up until the solos :3

Yup, it's pretty much all I listen to. My favorite bands are As I Lay Dying, All That Remains, Avenged Sevenfold (earlier stuff), Bullet For My Valentine, Blind Guardian, Disturbed, Dragonforce, Godsmack, and Killswitch Engage...to name a few.

U are looking at one of the biggest Metal fans here.

Metal is my life pretty much! Metal is one of my biggest influences.
My favorite bands are METALLICA, PANTERA, a little Slayer, MEGADETH, Dethklok, Iron Maiden, Disturbed...I can go on but I won't. I mostly enjoy the old thrash bands, but I enjoy a few new bands. A little Slipknot, not into Bullt for my Valentine as much...

However, Death Metal is something I can live without.

    CAnnibal Corpse sucks.

Metallica, you may say that their golden age was their older stuff. You may be right. However, as a fan of them, I respect all of their work. This includes St. Anger, which is probably my most respected Metallica album (Not favorite, respected.) Metallica's work, even their newer stuff portrays amazing themes, and those themes gained my love for Metal.
Three things saved me I believe.
    - Jesus Christ (yeah, I'm a christian, and a Metalhead.)
    - Marching Band (Music is my life)
    - Metallica (I easily connect with them)
Yeah, Metal will forever stay alive.

I quote Phil Anselmo from a live Pantera Concert:
"Let me hear some of that ****ing noise, that's what I'm talking about! You know what I've been saying- Look up here, you know what I've been saying all along? I'm sure that maybe I've read somewhere, you know, and I speak my mind and I talk about some s***, and I ****ing tell it like it is. I don't know if yo've ever heard about uh...you know how, the philosophy of Pantera goes, you know we don't give a flying f*** about any others. All we care about is our own. And all I've been saying for ****ing years, to all these stupid ****ing experts-! Hey! You know what the experts are telling you? That heavy music is dead and gone, but you all do me a favor. You all do me a favor. You all turn around and look at each other right now, you all turn around and look at all these mother****ing people here. And obviously someone is wanting to hear something that these ****ing experts are telling you 'You ain't supposed to be here.' Right well check this out."
    -Philip Anselmo (Vocalist for Pantera)

To all those who say Heavy Music is dead and really mean it, I give a very nice hand gesture to lol.

Nirvana is a good catchy band.

I'd be a fan of Cannibal Corpse and Death Metal in general if:
    1. I could understand what it is the vocalist says. It suounds like they are just puking into a microphone, sorry, but that's not talent unless you really do it good. Example: Nathan Explosion (lol). I can understand him!
    2. The drummer actually did more good things on the kit. I'm a drummer, and I know good drumming. Deth Metal drummers use double bass TOO MUCH. As much as I love double bass, if your gonna use it throughout the song, every song, you have no interest from me. Also the transistions I hear are rather dirty. On the positive side? I like the use of SOME blast beats!
    3. The guitars weren't so damn dirty. I know a few songs where the guitars just continually play one dirty note throughout the entire song. I was just like "TURN THAT OFF!"

So death metal really needs some more quality before I can give it respect. I look for theme in metal. Metallica and the other bands I have mentioned have provided that.

    legendarypokebreeder, you've seen Megadeth?

I envy you. I may like Metallica more, but Megadeth is a big respect for me. I'm sorta glad the old Metallica / Megadeth fueds have setteled over the years. Megadeth may be my third favorite band now.
    5. Slayer
    4. Moody Blues
    3. Megadeth
    2. Pantera
    1. Metallica

    ....Yeah.

I actually just bought Lamb Of God's new album yesterday. It isn't bad, just too...sacramenty (if that makes any sense), and I didn't really like Randy Blythe's vocals in it. Their best album is probably "Ashes of the Wake," imo.

I can't stand some of this more mainstream "Metal" that's out there today, though; IE Avenged Sevenfold. Aside from having among some of the most ridiculous lyrics of any band out there today, the fact that their music is way overproduced, and the fact that they're just terrible performers, I can't stand the whole facade put on by the band members, or the way they dress on stage. It's almost comical. It reminds me of that effing glam-Metal scene from the the 80's, only more...lol...

Anyone who disagrees with anything I've said here, so watch the video for "Seize the day," and you'll see what I mean. It's an effing joke.

Lamb of god, As i lay dying, Children of Bodom, it just doesnt get much better :D
I'm not a huge fan of As I lay Dying but I LOVE Children of Bodom. Not so much their newer stuff ("Are You Dead Yet?," "Bloodrunk"), but their first few albums were amazing. I saw them live last year when they were at Rock and Shock. They put on one hell of a show :D

I'm also big into the band Opeth right now for some reason.

    Well look who it is?

Sup Warface? Glad to see your still around lol

Got a respect for Children of Bodom, love how they use synthesizer in their music.

If you like Black Metal man, check out a band called Abigail Williams, I just discovered them, they only have one album right now, but it's pretty sick, especially track 10.

    Keep it metal, bro.

I preffer Thrash, MegadetH is my all-time fave, but I like all sorts. Anthrax is definately a close second. But I like bands that are more underground, like Motorhead, Children of Bodom, Rhapsody, Enslaved, Keep of Kalessin <- (very reccomended if you like Melodic Death Metal) Basically great Metal Bands that never really had a hit sellout album like Death Magnetic or something else over-hyped.

Easy there, buddy. I know you're quoting something, but that has some extensive foul language in there that can be disrespectful and inappropriate to others, despite it being censored. Try to avoid that.
