  • Up until 3 days ago, my Crystal was still working...and so, after 9 years the battery finally died. Last time I checked, my Silver was still working *hides in a corner and bawls*

I have Gold and Crystal and they both still work! It's pretty fun to play whenever you are bored.

Same here, all of my games work, even Red/Blue (though they tend to be glitchy). When you consider how many hours of gameplay they must have racked up since, it's pretty incredible.

  • My Gold version died many years ago because I left it in my pocket and it was put in the washer. But the good news is that my Crystal version still works.

  • 2nd Gen: I have 3 Silver games and one Crystal and none of them have died on me. But for some reason one of the Silvers corrupted when I took it out of my Gba and put it in my Gbc. I noticed that it corrupts every time the console played on changes however it won't corrupt using the same one so it now has a perma spot in my gbc. The other two silvers are fine to my knowledge. I played one recently and it was working fine. The other one was working last time I played it but that was a while ago, infact I'll check on it soon. Crystal is great, when my Red was dying due to MissingNo. I traded a load of pokes over to Crystal (Not MissingNo. obvly) and I figured it'd most likely corrupt having loads of pokes from a glitched game but it didn't and still works to this day very well. I was given a Pokemon Gold for free which broke within a month of getting it.

All my first gen games work fine as long as I refrain from purposefully glitching them.

  • No, all of them either had a corrupted save file or just died on its own. It was a shame, though. I put so much work into each of those games...

... Well, at least I have SoulSilver to satisfy me.

  • I have all GBC games (with 2 Golds and 2 Yellows). All but one of my Yellows work, and I can't get my Red to read without having it pressured (holding onto it). And I lost the Yellow that works. >_>

My Yellow has the pictures all messed up (instead of sprites, there are black squares qith red stripes) and my Silver is like new, if we don't look at the cartridge...

  • My RBY and GSC all work. The day Silver and Red die, I will explode into a million tears, though. So everyone must comfort me.

Hmm, that doesn't sound good. I'm currently playing Gold on a GBA and ever since I got it, I'ts never stopped working. I'm getting a GBC from a friend for oldschoolness as well, if I use his will it kill my game??

Also, does anyone know why some games seem to last longer than most? I hadn't played my gold in years and when I just started it up again it wanted me to re-enter the time because it had forgotten, would that somehow be relevant to why my game hasn't died yet?
