    Ronaldo > Messi
Messi is only good with Xavi and Iniesta on his back. Ronaldo made Man Utd 'Ronaldodependet' (Man Utd this season didn't won even one trophy) and that's happening again in Real Madrid. Wait for the next season, when he will be trained by Mourinho, then you'll see how better he is than Messi.

About the thread question, Brazil or Spain will win.

Even with him, Madrid didn't win anything this year. This might be because Messi scored against Madrid at the Bernabéu and Ronaldo didn't.

If you are so good that you make everybody else in your team look bad, then maybe there is something wrong, after all. That's something that doesn't happen to Messi.

And, in the end, if Barça found a way to get the most out of him, what's wrong with it?

Man Utd did win the Carling Cup, even though it's a minor trophy, they won at least one trophy atleast..

Remember, if it hadn't been for that poor decision with the handball, Barcelona would have been in the final.

Messi would have contributed little toward that though.

    Inter made him very quiet.

Messi is the best player in the world..I really don't think that Ronaldo comes close, I really don't. Messi just does some unbelievable things, but makes it look ridiculously easy...Sure I think I'd need to see him in the Premiership to fully judge, but from what there is too see, he is clearly better than Ronaldo.

I think he's close. Ronaldo 26 in 29, Messi 34 in 35, obviously both brilliant goal rates and the advantage to Messi gets clamped down once you consider it is Ronaldo's first season in a team that had a lot of new players to gel and Messi's support from midfield is greater.

I think it really says something for the average defence in La Liga really. I'd like to see Messi play a season in a league a bit rougher or with tighter defenses.

Yeah, I agree. A lot of goals put on a plate for him by Xavi, not denying he creates his own aswell but still.

Mourinho training Ronaldo, mouthwatering. If what most people here believe is true and Mourinho comes to Manchester United after Fergie retires then I'm hoping that he makes good relations with Ronaldo and brings him back to Old Trafford.

I think its classed as a major trophy actually, its just with the fa cup its lesser known and less cared about.

Thinks like the Johnstones Paint trophy are minor.

HAAHAHAHA IGNORANCE!!!!!!!!! MESSI IS PLAYING FOR US IGNORANT!! hahahah and you say you like soccer, or as its really called FUTBOL!

Not everyone calls it soccer and I'd say most people who do are from USA/Australia/etc. so its unlikely that he does, they may call it soccer in Portugal though no idea.

Its not ignorant what he said about Messi though.

For History we all had to randomly pick a soccer team that's playing in the World Cup and we have to wear their flags' colors each time we have class. And if your team gets eliminated you have to wear black for a whole weak. I got Nigeria ;__; guess I already know what color I'm going to wear. *Looks for black clothes in wardrobe*

Don't disrespect Argentina, they may have a bad manager, that's a given but you have to agree they have more skill than the US and most of the other teams. I think it's gonna be either Argentina, Brazil, Spain or South Africa. South Africa has good luck with home or did you guys forget the rugby match?

Please. I'd pay just to see that. Specially if he hasn't won anything major here by then. I might start pitying Madrid instead of hating them by then

As far as I know, only the countries with another "football" call it soccer, as you said.

    In portugal, it's called "futebol".

    What? Or rather, ¿qué?

Ok, maybe Man Utd won one minor throphy without Ronaldo, but was only one compared to a lot more the other seasons. They miss Ronaldo, that's for sure.
The Real Madrid problem this year was called Pellegrini, it's a shame of coach. Also, it was the first year of a lot of stars in the club (Ronaldo, Kaká, Benzema), they need to adapt first to the spanish league. Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, etc were already adapted to the league, so Barça was superior. But in the next year Barcelona will see the full potential of the Real Madrid team.
Just to finish, I also hope Mourinho comes back to the Premier League, but the next time to Man Utd (after Fergie retirement, of course) and takes Ronaldo with him. That would be awesome! (Man Utd is my second club)

No, the USA are a reasonable football team. They aren't world class, but they aren't awful. Their football team has good players, a good team spirit and got to the final of the Confederations Cup. They aren't as bad as some people think they are.

By the way if Mourinho did join Manchester United I'd dislike him more than I do now. I'm an Arsenal fan, so I don't like Chelsea, a team he's managed and I don't like United either.

I dont hate Anelka and hes went round all our rivals. Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea. He's even been to derby-ish minor rivals Bolton.

I was just stating a reason why I dislike, not hate Mourinho, there is a difference in that I respect Mourinho, I just dislike his previous clubs, his playing style and his personality.

Could you give an insight as to what players to look for when Portugal are playing?

Other than the obvious Ronaldo, Deco etc.

Deco is old, he probably will be a distaster at this world cup. Look for Fábio Coentrão and Danny, probably they will be great Portugal revelations. Besides that, the portuguese team s*cks, i would be happy if they pass the group phase -.-

Don't forget that Joao Moutinho, last I heard he was quite good.

Argentina's biggest trouble will probably be Renaldo and Renaldo (Renaldinho)

The farthest Portugal can go with this squad and this manager is the quarter-finals. And if we do, we can consider ourselves really lucky.
Don't worry about C. Ronaldo, he's done almost nothing for Portugal lately. But we'll miss Nani for sure, he got injured.

The favourites, for me, are Spain and Holland. I believe England can do a good tournament too.
And Argentina could easily be the world champions with that squad, but Maradona ain't the right manager for them.

Although Maradona is an awful coach, remember, he knows what it takes to win a world cup (whether it be god's hand or not)..And Argentina are still Argentina, I mean they have some of the best players in the world about 80% of the team could have a strong case for top 50.
